Found keywords. Move on?

So i did my research on certain niches and found a few that seem pretty decent. All of the ones i have found are low competition ranging from 22,400 -74,000 global search per month (google keyword tool). I am going to buy two because i plan on making a content site and a web store. Should i be looking for better keywords to make my domain or just buy what i have found?

    Depending on the niche, that sounds like a lot of monthly searches.

    Are you using "exact" searches for this? If so, you may find that there's a lot of competition and you may have problems ranking for this keyword.

    I think what Peter is asking is are those numbers "exact" monthly searches or broad...in the Googles KW Tool.

    Those numers are fairly high to not have a reasonable amount of competition.

    have you checked the Page Rank of the top 10 sites in SERPS? How many backlinks do they have?

    I think it is important to check the competition in this case.

    Look for if this is any authority site on the 1st page.

    Also see how many of them have the keyword on the domain

    Yea, that is a high search volume, I hope you have checked out the competition before heading into this one.. The worst thing you can do is bite off more than you can chew.

    Check the first 10-20 results to get a rough idea on how you can rank here. Look for:

    -PR
    -Age
    -# of Backlinks to Page
    -# of Backlinks to Domain
    -Keyword in Title, Meta details

    Next, go in and actually explore some of the backlinks from the top contenders, where are they getting them from, how good are they really, etc.

    Devise a sound link building strategy that is about 2x more powerful than what you anticipate they are doing. (Not all indexed backlinks actually show up in the Yahoo/Google backlink checkers).

      Check out the tools at seobook.com You can download their toolbar for free. It toggles on and off with a click. When you turn it on you can run any Google search and all the info about every site will appear right under the listing on the page.

      DO read their supporting docs though so you know how to use it properly, and also how to interpret the data.

      here are all the link quality factors found in SEO SpyGlass:
      • Search engine - name and logo of the search engine from which the backlink data was retrieved.
      • Backlink Page - the URL (exact web address) of the page on which the backlink is placed.
      • Title -- the title of the backlink page. Browse through the page titles to find the ones that contain your keywords. Links from the ones that do are likely to carry more SEO value.
      • Links Back -- this column tells you whether the backlink a) exists and b) works.
      a) the link has been removed but still shows up in search engine's backlink list because the list has not been updated yet. In this case the value in this column is "No".
      b) The link is alive and well but the search engines technically do not follow the link and thus it does not have any SEO value. Note, however, that "Nofollow" links are still good for bringing human visitors/traffic to your site.
      • Anchor Text -- the "clickable" text or image in the link.
      • Anchor URL -- competitor's URL that the backlink points to.
      • Page PR - Google PageRank -- Google'smeasure of webpage importance, based on the number of incoming and outgoing links. Uses a ten-grade scale, the higher PR the better. Note that Page PR is the value of one page (URL), not the entire website (domain).
      • External Links - number of links on the page pointing from the backlink domain to other domains.
      • Total Links -- total number of outgoing links (both internal and external) on the page. The fewer outgoing links, the greater the value of each link coming from the page.
      • Link Value -- shows how much PageRank the page may potentially pass with a link. Roughly, the higher PageRank and the fewer outgoing links, the higher the link value.
      • Domain - the root name of the website.
      • Domain IP - IP address - website's numeric label; a unique ID number of the computer/server where the website is hosted. Getting backlinks from sites hosted in the same country as yours can play an important role in promoting your site in regional search engines.
      • Domain PR - Google Page Rank for the entire domain(the 'homepage' name).
      • DMOZ Listing - (Open Directory Project) listing -- checks whether the website is listed in the DMOZ online directory, which is highly regarded by search engines. The site listed in DMOZ is considered a high-authority website.
      • Yahoo! Dir listing -- checks whether the website is listed in the Yahoo! Internet directory. Just like with DMOZ, the listing increases site reputation in the eyes of the search engines.
      • Alexa Rank -- the ranking of a website based on the volume of traffic it's getting, as measured by Alexa.com. The smaller the Alexa Rank figure, the "better" the website.
      • Domain Age -- indicates how long ago the domain was registered (search engines have a much higher confidence in older domains, hence backlinks fromolder domains usually lead to higher rankings).
      • Last found date -- The last date when you updated your SEO SpyGlass project and the link was found in the search engines' backlink list for your project domain.
      • Backlink status - tells you whether the backlink shows up in search engine backlink lists. Column options are: a) "new" b) "removed" c) "remains".
      a) thelink is "new" if SEO SpyGlass did not find it last time it checked the search engine backlink lists.
      b) it is "removed" ifSEO SpyGlass located the backlink previously but it is no longer available.
      c) it "remains" ifSEO SpyGlass located the backlink previously and it is still operational.
      • Country -- the country where the backlink domain is hosted.
      • Notes -- the editable field where you are free to type your comments, observations, etc.
      • Contact info - list of the email addresses you can use to contact the webmaster of the backlink domain.
      • Compete rank - site'straffic ranking metric similar to Alexa. Measured by Compete.com. As with Alexa, the lower Compete rank, the better.
      • Compete traffic -traffic volume based on estimates from Compete.com.
      • Indexed in Google - number of pages in this domain indexed by Google.
      • Indexed in Yahoo! - number of pages in this domain indexed by Yahoo!
      • Indexed in Bing - number of pages in this domain indexed by Bing.
      • Indexed in Yandex - number of pages in this domain indexed by the Yandex search engine.
      • Domain Google Popularity -- the number of incoming links to the website that Google search engine presents to the public.
      • Domain Yahoo! Popularity -- the number of incoming links to the website that Yahoo! search engine presents to the public.
      • Domain Yandex CY - Theme citation index for the website calculated by the Yandex search engine. The higher the index value, the better.
      • Digg Articles - number of times the website has been "Digged", or voted for using Digg.com social news site.
      • Domain Delicious Bookmarks - number of times the website has been passed around the Web using Delicious.com social bookmarking service.
      • Domain StumbleUpon views - number of times the website has been viewed using StumbleUpon.com social search engine.
      • Domain Diigo bookmarks - number of times the website has been passed around the Web using Diigo.com social bookmarking service.
      • Domain Social Mention Popularity - Domain Popularity in Social Mention shows how many pages are linking the website according to SocialMention.com, a social media search and analysis platform.
      • Domain Twitter mentions - number of times the website has been mentioned by Twitter users.
      • Domain Google Buzz - number of times the website has been mentioned by Google Buzz users.
      • Domain Facebook Popularity - number of times the website has been shared by Facebook users.
      • Cache Date in Google - the date when Google cached (= temporarily stored the indexed copy "as is") the backlink page.
      • Cache Date in Yahoo! - the date when Yahoo! cached (= temporarily stored the indexed copy "as is") the backlink page.
      • Cache Date in Bing - the date when Bing cached (= temporarily stored the indexed copy "as is") the backlink page.
      • Page Google Popularity - the number of incoming links to the page/URL that Google search engine presents to the public.

      • Page delicious bookmarks - number of times the page/URL has been passed around the Web using Delicious.com social bookmarking service.

      • Page Diigo bookmarks - number of times the page/URL has been passed around the Web using Diigo.com social bookmarking service.

      • Page Twitter mentions - number of times the page/URL has been mentioned by Twitter users.
      • Page Google buzz - number of times the page/URL has been mentioned by Google Buzz users.
      • Page Facebook popularity - number of times the page/URL has been shared by Facebook users.
      • Visits to your site - number of visitors you get from the listed backlinks. SEO SpyGlass lets you import this data from your Google Analytics account. This column is useful only when you are analyzing your own, already-existing links. It shows your real visitors coming through these links.

    and you need "exact" not broad

    also
    you need to check the competition on top 10
    if you have not done that you have NO IDEA what your competition is, so you saying these kws have "low competition" would not be accurate

    you need to really learn how to analyze the competition before you decide on the kws
    otherwise you are wasting your time

    Market samurai is a good tool to check SEO competition as they can provide you your competitor backlink and their anchor text (what keyword they go with)

    I think you need to see exact.

    You are looking at broad search. broad search is not a good way to do ur research.
