Newbie Seeks SEO Source Code Advice

Hi Warriors! I hope this is not to much to ask. I have a new website PopSingingLessonsLondon.co.uk. It is a long term project, to build up some authority. I wanted to ask some members in this forum if it would be possible to have a quick look at the source code and tell me what you think about it regarding SEO.

The reason for this is: I built this site with a software called RapidWeaver. This software is extremely easy to use and offers many great addons. The problem is, that I came across a few forum posts, where people have been complaining about "heavy" or SEO non friendly code, created by this software, especially by addons called "Stacks".

So I now have to decide if I am going to continue using RapidWeaver, or change to WordPress for future projects. If it is nothing major, then I'd rather want to stay with RapidWeaver, since I invested quite some money for themes and plugins. If the code is really messy, then I have to switch to Wordpress anyway.

I would highly appreciate your advice and help in this matter.
Since my post count doesn't allow links I hope this is OK.

Here's the site: PopSingingLessonsLondon.co.uk

Thanks a lot

    Hi Anjo,

The code is pretty messy and has quite a few errors - [Invalid] Markup Validation of http://www.popsinginglessonslondon.co.uk/ - W3C Markup Validator

The nice thing with Wordpress is that it does validate straight out of the box.

Hi Miles. Thanks so much for your help. Would you generally say that the site might have problems to rank because of the code?

      Again, Thanks

I'm sure you could still get the site ranked, but Google does seem to prefer pages with valid code. I look upon it as one of the elements of good seo. But there are lots of other factors involved in getting a good ranking. If the rest of your on page seo is good and off page seo is better than your competiton you'll probably be fine.

Yes I really think it would be best to find a good wordpress theme or get it customized with what you have. WSC Validator will really show you all the issues with this format.

    Hey VocalCoach,

The page looks great overall! The only thing I feel like it is missing is an opportunity to Buy NOw. It seems like everything is filtered toward getting the email sign-up which is great, but with all that web copy on the main page people may be convinced to just go ahead and purchase. Just a thought

      Presto Smith,

Thanks a lot for that advice. At the moment I am working on a downloadable Vocal Training Course. As soon as this is available I definitely want to sell online.

Thanks for your kind words regarding the overall look of the site. I appreciate it.

coding could be better as everyone has said but i'd be very surprised if your site wasn't able to rank. You have invisible latin text you should get rid of. Not sure how your CMS works but it might be a widget thats has latin text in it.

@Michael, Thanks a lot for letting me know. Latin Text? Oh my.

As much as I like to work with RapidWeaver, I seriously have to think about switching to WordPress. I just did some poking around on the web and I have to say WordPress has evolved incredibly over the last few years. I just had a look at Theme Forest and the Themes there are truly stunning and more importantly quite easy to customize.

So as hard as that seems, I think I'll start building my site all over again. At least the Photoshop - and Video work is done already.

Thanks everybody for your help and advise.
