Transfering content to another domain - duplicate?

Hi there,

so I had to shut-down one domain (reason not related to the question at hand) which had around 4000 words of new content on it about 1 week ago.

I would like to use that content on another page, because it is unique and off high quality. The content can no longer be found anywhere, because the page is down..for good.

Is it ok to put it on my other page or should I wait until Google deindexed it completely? What if Google later finds out that there is no other page with this content?

Any ideas?

Thanx

The news iste has been indexed already. The old is still showing in copyscape, but you cannot click the link (because the site is no longer active). Will Google deindex it eventually and get the idea that it is the same site (same pages, same content, same template all the same..) ?

Use Google's Webmaster Tool for this.

You need to create a 301 redirect. Create a .htaccess page and put this in it.. and upload it to your old directory.

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.yournewsite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Get the old content on your new site as soon as you like.
