Hey warriors been awhile, so anyways I ordered a backlink service for 50 .edu links a couple weeks ago.

So far I ran a backlink check and only found 7. So do they take time to show up or have I been doped?

You should always get a report from the service vendor you ordered from that should be an excel sheet.

It would have a bunch of links in it where you can cross refer to check if the work has been done.

However, links that are normally not pinged through linklicious or pingomatic etc, they usually take a longer time to crawl and get indexed as they are not found by google yet.

It can take from weeks to months, no one really knows. You can choose to ping them all at once but it's not guaranteed that these links will get indexed though.

Thanks for the response the vendor did send me a report when he finished the job. All 50 links were there plus bonus links. All were live when I checked them out from the report. When I bought the service I got the added ping service as well.

So from what you're saying it could take awhile before I start seeing results?

I've found it always takes time for links to be picked up.

if you manually checked all links and they are all live then it's just a matter of them getting indexed. have you searched each link to see if they are indexed?

Note that there are no backlink software or services that can will show you all your backlinks. All of them will only show you partial links. This is to protect ranking algorithm cuz if one knew all links to all sites it would be even easier to manipulate serps.

After a short span, If you website goes higher then you could think that .edu links are crawling. But i would preferably say you should ping your website against the keywords you have got the backlinks.

Ask your backlink provider a comprehensive report of all the links that they have built for your website. Also, consider the fact that links tend to be crawled by the search engines within a week and even some for months. Might as well wait.

In my experience, I always asked for a sample report of a backlink provider so that I will review it and decide if I go for it.

It wouldn't be considered a scam if they went through with everything that was offered.

You say that all of the links were live, so if that's true and they offerred 50 .edu backlinks and all the backlinks were .edu and there were 50 of them, then they did not scam you.

However if you do want the backlinks to show up, then you would want to possibly build backlinks, social bookmarks, or something of that nature to them, so that they do show up.

Your links must index, without it, it will useless. And edu links are same with other links, you must index these links to SE count.

Never seen an EDU link appear in my backlinks, bought a couple of cheap ones on here as a test, waste of cash.

Definitely takes time for links to get indexed.

What type of .edu backlinks were they, though? That will play a roll in how quickly they're indexed.

I would recommend pinging the backlinks first, then building links to the links from forums, social bookmarking, etc. That will give them the juice they need to rank your site higher. Remember though that just because they are edu links - doesn't mean much now - they need to be relevant high quality links to be of any measure.
