Adsense Earnings Take Time: So be patient!

A lot of people including myself, sign(ed) up for Adsense and expect to immediately be making money. On my site, BROcrastinator, it's taken me quite a bit of time to get going in terms of monetizing with Adsense.

I installed it back in July, a month in which I had my highest traffic numbers ever, around 13,000 unique visitors. However, my income from Adsense was only at $15.. This month, traffic is down to around 7,000 unique visitors, but income from Adsense has doubled to over $30 a month.

For those beginning:
-Give Adsense time to begin better targeting the content on your website
-Don't freak out about your Adsense stats, the analytics can freak out occasionally. (For example, today I had 4 clicks for $1.25 about an hour ago.. Checked back a few hours later, those 4 clicks are now worth $.03)
-Once again, give it time!

You should take a look at other monetizing possibilities if you are only earning $30 with 7000 unique visitors...

    What niche are you in?

To clarify, I'm in the men's entertainment niche if you could call it that. It's quite spread out, mostly between the topics seen in my signature.

Adsense is not my only form of monetization though. I make around $20 from a gambling affiliate site and around $10 from Amazon Associates, though I admit, I don't monetize to anywhere near my full potential.

Really depends on what you're doing, I know people who started a few sites couple days latter they have a consistent $1 a day.

I know a guy who started 15 micro niche sites, sold most of them off to whittle it down to his best 2 and now makes a consistent $15-25 a day from a couple of sites. That took around 3 months (90 days) to achieve.

It does take sometime, but depending on your strategy you can increase the rate at which you start earning at.

That income is appalling for the amount of uniques you are getting.
But then again, your site isn't exactly made for adsense

If I were you I would try experimenting with different ad placements. Last month I changed my layout on several of my sites and my income doubled just from that.

It might also be worth your time to do some section targeting and ad filtering.

If you want to really see an increase, you might try adding some carefully keyword researched product related content to your site...maybe have a section on watch reviews or something like that.

I agree, I could definitely use some work on my Adsense placement and targeting.. I've always focused more on the content of my site rather then monetizing and it's certainly shown in my monthly revenues from it.

    • That is great advice.

I built some sites in April 2010, gave up on them after two months of work. Then in September, the sites started earning between $30 and $50/Month. I sold three sites on Flippa for a total of around $1,200.

I only wished that I would have built more.
