SEO SpyGlass PR Not Displaying (Even With "Fix")

I'm using the trial version of SEO SpyGlass. You users of this tool know that for awhile it hasn't displayed the PR of backlinks.

They just created a fix. It auto-downloaded and updated from version 4.6.1 to 4.6.2. But the PR values still aren't displayed.

I'm using the trial version, which only displays Yahoo backlinks - not Google backlinks.

I posted on their forum and created a support ticket, with no reply.

My question is for SEO SpyGlass users. Is PR now working for you? If yes, is it working for just Google backlinks, or for Yahoo backlinks as well? I can only see Yahoo backlinks, so maybe it's "fixed" in that it works for Google but not Yahoo?

Mine is fine so may e try downloading it again. The links are nothing to do with the PR so this shouldn't be affecting it.

      Thanks for your quick replies.

Still not working for me. I uninstalled it, then downloaded the latest version and installed, with the same results.

If you look at their forum, and read their blog, you'll see that this was a know issue and they worked to fix it. The app was working fine for me, then it "went bad" with the PR values not being displayed. Google changed their algorithm, and that affected apps like SEO SpyGlass.

I actually wish others had this problem (sorry about the bad vibes with that), because then at least someone might offer a fix or confirm they're in the same boat.

I tried with and without a proxy server, reinstalling, rebooting, everything.

I guess I'll just need to wait and see if anyone else is going through this and finds this thread.

      Thanks.

I've had it running pretty much nonstop for the past 24 hours with no problems.

Can you pull PR with other tools? You might want to try it and make sure it is not a case of your IP being banned.

Yes, I can get pr from other tools. Though I had to add a "fix" to my FireFox Google Toolbar to get it to see PR. And I added a proxy server (paid for) to SEO SpyGlass, thinking that maybe I had overloaded Google with the PR queries. No help.

Very frustrating, as I know pretty much about this stuff. Apparently though I can't boast about knowing everything, or I would have solved the issue.

Did you experience any loss of PR value with SEO SpyGlass over the last week? That was common - not just me. Google's algorithm change affected a lot of tools, as SEO SpyGlass freely admits. It almost sounds like some people never saw that loss of PR, which seems strange if true.

No it definitely was not pulling PR from sometime Thursday or Friday until yesterday.

It has been working fine though. Maybe PM LinkAssistant on here and see if you can get some help that way.

It turns out it was the use of a proxy server. I set preferences to not use it, ran a check, and the PR values showed up. Then as a test I set preferences to again use it, and no PR values displayed. Not sure why, as I thought using a proxy was supposed to be safer regarding getting your IP temporarily banned from pulling in PR values.

Anyway, it was the proxy server and now SEO SpyGlass is again working for me. Thanks to all who answered.

It may have been that particular proxy has a permanent ban from Google because it has been used so much. Pretty common with shared proxies.
