Check out this site: Kota My Triceratops Dinosaur

I'm noticing a lot of sites ranking very HIGHLY with a theme similar to this. With very little backlnks My guess is they're able display a lot of content all at once and use a lot of LSI keywords which the SERPs love.

I know a website less than a year old ranking position 2 for a pretty decent keyword with less than 10 backlinks using this kind of theme. So what's it called and where can I find a similar one?

    this usually works:

right click page and click on view source
then do control+f (search) and type in theme

    this one says freshnews

    nicnac03,

Though design and underlying code DO play a part in SEO... I doubt that your reason is totally the reason for them ranking well (unless they are in markets with very low competition).

If you like this theme because it suits what you want to do... then get it... but don't get it just because of the perceived SEO value.

The ugliest of sites can rank high in the SERPs. Its not really the "theme" per say that will help you rank. Its what you do with SEO that is the key. If the theme has SEO properties built in then more power to it.

I honestly wouldn't pay money for an SEO optimized theme. Why? Because there are various FREE plugins that will help you optimize your Wordpress site.

If you don't know jack about SEO, then I would actually advise against buying an SEO optimized theme. Why? Because before you can truly see the benefits of something automated you need to first understand it. Once you do, then you will not only know what to look for, but will know why it actually works ( I still wouldn't though, but then again that is just me, and I have my own system down pat ).
