I know blogging including guest blog post helps a lot to generate quality back links. But here i am in dilemma for blog commenting. Blog Commenting activity is still effective to generate traffic?

Any suggestion/clarification would be appreciated.

It doesn't generate direct traffic, it is used for SEO purposes.

    Thanks

    I think it is.

Personally, I don't agree with automation or even outsourcing in this area.

Blog commenting should be done personally and thoughtfully.

Then, and only then, is it a great way to network, get great backlinks and traffic.

I agree with Mark. Add value in your comment and get a quality backlink. I mean, who wants a link on a over spammed blog post anyway? If you want your link to get approved and to stay there then spend a minute and post something of value.

Blog commenting can also drive traffic to your site while doing SEO. Those are the two main advantages of guest posting.

if you are doing this for seo (back linking), yes you can consider scrapbox. but i personally think its just ok as everyone is doing it.

if you are looking for traffic (and links), then find blogs which are related and you can generate targetted traffic.

Blog commenting is effective for building quality links especially from high PR sites. But it can also drive traffic to your website if you comment on blog relevant to your niche and the comment must be useful.

Traffic from blog commenting is so little even its hard to notice it, actually, articles drives more traffic than blog commenting. DoFollow blogs are more suited for SEO than traffic.

As others are saying, don't expect a ton of traffic just from blog commenting. Commenting is good for generating backlinks, but not necessarily traffic. (Unless you're commenting on niche related blogs. But even then, you won't get many clicks.)

I would highly avoid using a tool like Scrapebox to create blog commenting backlinks. Unless you're pointing them at a 2nd or 3rd tier backlink. (An article that links to your site, for example.)

If you're going to point the links directly at your site then I'd only leave relevant comments. In other words, don't spam.

On the other hand, a lot of top blogs are configured so they slap a "nofollow" onto your link. Has anyone found any top-ranking blogs that don't?

        That is the hard part.

You really need to use and master a tool like Scrapebox for this. Otherwise you'll be spending hours upon hours looking for quality, dofollow blogs.

Mostly blog comments are just for backlinks. HOWEVER, if you leave comments that actually have some thought and insight in them, then you may get a little bit of increased traffic.

And what is the second advantage buddy! You want to say Traffic generation through direct traffic and also helpful to create quality links?

My observation is little different from yours. Blog commenting helps to drive traffic, many of SEO experts have suggested that blog commenting is good SEO activities for traffic generation.

The ratio of direct traffic from blogs is very low. Blogs commenting only helps in getting links for SEO purposes to increase PR and SERP. If you want to drive traffic to your site than forums and social networking sites are the best places.

Do-follow Blog comments are great if you are targeting some keywords in order to achieve a good ranking in Google, although blogs alone won't bring much traffic to your site unless you use them to achieve a good ranking in Google, that is when you will receive quality traffic.

Blog commenting is still an effective way to get traffic. Make sure that you write quality comments that are really related to the post or your post will end up in the spam bin of the admin. I always see traffic from the backlinks I get from my fellow bloggers.

It will always be effective as long as you give quality comment.

I've generally found that if I'm commenting on blogs that aren't related to my niche, I won't generate much traffic.

But good comments on niche-related blogs can bring in a surprising amount of traffic. And it's usually pretty targeted.

Well it really depends on what you are going to do with them.

Here are two things that you can perhaps do with blog commenting:

        1. Comment manually( this means you actually log onto the site and write a comment that is relavent.) on high PR sites and .edu and .gov sites.

        2. Use it to blast web 2.0 and articles linking to your site.

Blasting the blogs directly to your site will get you a punishment from google, which usually means your site deranks for a few days.

        Thanks

Blog comments can drive traffic in rare instances. For example, when Mashable used Disqus for their commenting system generally the first or second person on a huge post would get a ton of traffic. I had a friend who had about 1,000 views just from a few Mashable articles in one month.

That being said, it is the exception more than the rule. There is nothing wrong with outsourcing comments as long as they are not using scrapers. Real comments from real people. None of this, "Great post, I think I am going to bookmark "$h!t" that you see from automated bots.

Blog commenting won't guarantee you direct targeted traffic from visitors, but it does help you in SEO. Most of the webmasters right now are using this method (even automated) to rank their websites in Google.

Blog commenting definitelly won't bring you too much traffic, and lately it's not that good for backlinking purposes since Google has degraded the backlink power coming from blog commenting and mostly these are PR0 or PR1 and that is very low. focus on other ways to bring traffic.

    Cheers

Blog Commenting can generate traffic IF you post the comment in a blog that have very high daily traffic, or your comment is very good that everyone will pay attention to yours.
