How long does it take for SERPs to recover from 404 errors

My website is an e-commerce site. About three weeks ago, I adjusted the visibility options in Magento and inadvertently created 800+ 404 errors in the span of a several days, which in turn (in my opinion) caused my Google SERPs to essentially disappear. I then fixed the errors and submitted a reconsideration request to Google about two weeks ago. Two or three keywords are now ranking between 70-100 where 10+ keywords were ranking between 20-100 prior to this.

My question is if this is how long does it typically take for SERPs to recover to their original levels after something like this occurs?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I'm not sure I understand you fully.

The SERPs disappeared after the errors were created. No content was actually changed. Now that the errors have been fixed, are you saying that only updated content will bring the SERPs back to their original levels?

One other thing I failed to note previously is that none of the landing pages had errors. Only some of the products that were on the landing pages could no longer be found. Not sure if that matters, but thought I should mention it.
