.html on wordpress posts?

i have another newbie question
does posts in wordpress site ranks as a website page in google with permalinks "/%postname%/" ?
i saw a website 1# in google for a medium competition keyword that had .html in the link at posts. and it had some sitelinks indexed by google for that posts.
so does this .html matters in ranking a post page in wordpress?

    .html or any other extension makes no difference what so ever to rankings

    Whether it is .html, .php, .htm. There is no difference about indexing or ranking.
    For ranking, simply make sure that your keyword is present in your URL, such as: your keyword is: dog training husky. Make sure your URL look like wwwTheDogPlacecom/dog-training-husky

    This will help you rank for this particular keyword.
