Not talking about linkwheels here FYI.

I have failed to see any PR love (or any recognized link from Google) from any of the major Web 2.0 properties I own.

Perhaps I am doing it wrong.

I set up a web account on tumblr say, I use my keyword as tumblr username/site name and put up a cutsie little post KW rich, and a link to me site. Follow some related peeps in related cats, and rinse, repeat with other Web2.0 properties.

Ok so no love from them, seemingly at all, what if anything am I missing?

Well that web2.0 post will be a PR0 so you may not see a massive benefit from them.

To get them indexed quicker you may want to social book mark them and RSS feed them.

To help increase the link juice they provide, you may also want to build backlinks to your backlinks.

Yeah you know, I noticed that the PR is 0 on these sites, so other than indexing power (nominal with other methods in place) the trickle of additional traffic it just really produces a poor backlink.

I imagine that these sites have high PR because none of them let the juice out, so why bother except for public exposure?

    lioncirth is right.

Web 2.0 pages (because that's what they are - pages within a site) will have no PR to start with so they provide very little in the way of link juice.

To make Web 2.0 pages work, you need to build links to them and treat them as mini sites which all work towards gaining exposure for your larger (money) sites.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks

Yes Agreed...But When you Do link building for These Web 2.0...Then It will Surely Give you Massive Advantages as Traffic or SERP...

and After Some time you See that these pages are in the Result for your keyword which you target for these pages..

      Thanks.

Hey.. don't focus too much on PR. What Google will focus on the most is relevancy. Is site A related to site B? If yes, you will get high marks if they are regardless of PR.

Web 2.0 sites are not that powerful when viewed independently but as a whole or collectively, these sites could be a powerful SEO strategy. You just need to back them up with social bookmarking and RSS feeds.
