Content And Links To A One Product Authority Site Question

Hi Warriors

I want to build a one product authority site, the product gets upgraded about every year or so, so there will be different versions of the product

For example, let's say I'm marketing the Xbox, and there is a new version that comes out yearly, like xbox2, xbox3 etc

So I have keywords for all versions of the Xbox, let's say about 20 for Xbox, another 20 for Xbox 2 and so on

Do I put all this content on the home page with lots of posts for each keyword, or do I create the home page full of general Xbox content to create authority, and then create a page for each keyword of the variations, so in this case, the home page would be Xbox dot come, with lots of content to build authority, and then a page each for all the other keywords, like xbox2 review, buy Xbox2

If I keep all the keywords in just posts on the home page, I won't be able to post future content directly under the same keyword, whilst if I had a page each for each keyword, I can add content to each relevant keyword page

And how would this work for link building?

Home page content only with lots of posts for each keyword = create back links to home page and individual posts

Or

Back links to home page for authority and back links for each page

Hope this all makes sense, any guidance would be most welcome

Cheers,

Coolmoss

    Hey

I think the best structure for an authority site is category/theme based.

This means having your home page targeting your main keyword i.e. xbox (as per your examples)

You would then write high quality content on this "homepage" and link to your category pages within this homepage.

Then, under each category i.e. xbox 1, xbox 2, xbox 3 you would write posts/articles related to those categories.

This makes things much easier for backlinking and more structured for Google - which they love by the way.

    Hope that helps!

    Thanks
    Eleanor
