Hi all,

I found a good keyword but the exact match is taken.

For example-

KW is---Widgets

Widgets.com Is taken

Is it ok to create this instead. MyWidgetsShop.com- (assuming it's available)

Thanks

    Hey,

Yeah that looks good (doubt it's available though!)

If you can't get the exact match domain then it's a good idea to use "stop words" either before or after your main keyphrase.

Here's a few examples of stop words...

    all
    the
    find

There are far too many to list - but someone's done a good job of listing them here...

Using these along with your keyphrase in the domain is almost as good as an exact match domain.

    Hope that helps

    Thanks

Depending on the competition for the targeted keyphrase, some have been reporting success with using hyphens for multi-word keyprhases. Ie blue-widets.com if bluewidgets.com, .org, and .net are unavailable. I have not seen or conducted a good test between stop words and hyphens though to know which is better.

I think that's fine yes, the only potential issue you may have later on down the line is if the keyword was a specific brand name...
