I've seen this a handful of times myself. I've got a few pages ranking (fairly) well on Yahoo that really have no business doing so. These are either horribly ranked or not ranked at all in Google.

It's only 3 days old. Google can take a little longer than this to judge your worthiness in the rankings (their algorithms are COMPLICATED! ).

You would typically see some positive movement within a week or two if you are already highly ranked in Yahoo.

Just be patient and continue to build links progressively.

3 days is way too early to tell.

Come back after 3 weeks and let us know how you are going.

i feel it's cause they use different algos. however, ranking #1 in just 3 days seems to me like that algo doesn't 'talk' much sense.

Yeah, you will definitely get visitors from Yahoo but with such a low searched term I would anticipate you will need to be #1 to get any consistent traffic. Same with Google.

one keyword has 12.100 exact global searches and the other one has 3600 so it isn`t such a low searched term...

I find that a few of my websites are performing really well (for what it's worth) on Yahoo and Bing, but absolutely suck in Google. I'm willing to bet it's because of the young age (only 2 or 3 months old).

Give it some time, Google seems to rely more on age + reliability nowadays.

Yep you just need to be patient!! Google take a little bit more time to make their mind up about new sites and monitor them a little more first.

Google is the big boy in town... but not the only place you can get traffic!

Try youtube it's the second biggest search engine...

Alternatively, before you waste your time... maybe a quick $50 bucks on Google adwords could save you weeks and weeks of effort!!!!

If your ad is displaying in the number 1 slot... which shouldn't cost you much seeing as its a low competition term.... and you cannot convert a click... maybe you should look for a better converting term...

I see a lot of people get all excited about ranking #1 to #10 and then ......nothing!

Are people paying for ads on your chosen term?

If they are not you may want to think about why? rather than thinking you have found an untapped niche, its far, far, far more likely there is no money in it.

Just give it some more time and come back and check frequently.
Also build more and more links to the pages as well as the home page. The more links you have the more chances you will have in showing up in different search engines

Google takes more time to rank your website. They don't really allow things to be done overnight. Even when you hit page 1 after a week or two, it might completely disappear.

That's simply the Google dance and you shouldn't be too worried about it. Build content, build quality links (avoid blasts) and you will probably come back even stronger. I did every time

If you are not doing AdSense, AdWords can be a good option if you want to get the #1 spot fast.

    Hope I helped

Searching Algorithms for both the search engines are different.. If your site is new it ranks better in yahoo for few days but after a time period you can notice a downfall in your rankings in Yahoo search engine but uptrend start in Google as your site is getting more older.. Do SEO and see the results.. This is my personal experience..

I had the same problem some time ago. It takes time with Google upto two weeks during which time you should post more content. If your site does have unique content consistently then it will rise up the ranks and stay there for a long time.

ah okay so I have a lot of authority backlinks.

And yahoo's determining factors are age and metatags? theres got to be more to it than that.

Yeah. This is because Yahoo ranks newly-created websites at first but, later on it rankings will go down. Better maintain in building links to stay in its position. You have to do hardwork and wait for some time to rank on Google. I have also an experienced on this.
