Does Adsense pay differently per subjects?

Besides the different payments for tier 1,2,3 etc ,does Google pay differently base on the subject of the website?
For example, if I get 2 clicks from the same tier, one is Games related and one Health related, do both clicks earn the same?
If not, where can I analyze and find out what are the most profitable niches?

Thanks.

Clicks pay according to your site. No matter what the niche.

People bid to put ads on your site. Highest bids get placed.

No bidders? Google may go to global advertisers who target
    anything.

Your site has to warrant high paying clicks. You can build
all the sites you want on insurance, but if your site sucks,
    so will the CPC.

Unrelated ads on your site are in the same auction.

Yes I do. I have never found quality of site to matter 1 bit in adsense click payouts. Different topics pay differently and thats what matters. I have had auto insurance websites with almost no content get $15 clicks at times. Its all about the topics you pick. Quality of site factors in very very little.

Making a living with adsense is all about finding the niches that pay well. I have 1 site that gets about 2000 uniques a day, with about 80-100 clicks a day making about $15-20. I have another site that gets about 30 unique visitors a day with 3 clicks and makes about $15-20. Ya see what I am saying!

Looks like I misread the post. Thought the OP was talking
about ads on the same site being from different niches.

Re-reading ...bidders and bidders only determine
          the cost of a click.

Yes, some niches have more bidders, jacking up the price.

But your site's quality will determine how many bidders you
get. Let's define quality. Quality is determined by the amount
of sales a site generates as a ratio to clicks.

A site that gets 100 clicks, no sales, sucks. A site that
gets only 10 clicks, but 2 sales, does not, in relation to
the first site. The higher % of clicks to sales, the better.

Not the quality of content or anything else. However, if your
content suffers, and/or your site is just bad, how do you
propose people even stay on your site to look at any adsense?

Niche or subject has nothing to do with CPC. If nobody is bidding
on your site, who cares if it's on car insurance? You'll get squat,
even though you think car insurance should have a sky high
          CPC.

Bidding and bidding alone determines CPC. Well, that and the
          adwords user's QS.

I know, some of you scream hey insurance costs a bundle!

It only costs a bundle because of the number of bidders.
It does not cost a bundle because it's insurance.

If you have a site on insurance, and your clickers suck, you
will get smart priced, sinking your CPC even lower.

One site I have is an authoritative site, popular, and what many
would call low paying niche. But guess what? Advertisers are
bidding quite high to get on it. Higher than what anyone would
think was a high paying niche. It's all about bidders and companies
          that target your site.

That's why you can make boatloads of money no matter what subject
you choose. If people knew this, I truly believe some warriors would
          be soooooooooooooo much more successful.

Good post Paul. Any suggestions as to what has helped your site become a high bid site? I have 2 websites specifically that seem to be in very low paying niches but get tons of clicks and both are 2 of my highest quality content websites. They weren't smart priced but if I could even boost the CPC .10 on these sites it would be a major upgrade. I have always kind of set it and forget it with adsense. Usually the click payouts have stayed consistent since day 1 but I'd love to know anyways that could help get higher bids.

To expand on what PaulGL said for those who don't agree, its true. You won't see the decrease immediately but if clicks from your site hardly ever convert on the other end for the advertiser your CPC will be negatively effected pretty quick ("smart pricing"). Clicks from crap sites usually don't convert so crap AdSense publishers get crappy CPCs

But that has nothing to do with site quality. Your site quality can be awful but still convert for advertisers. If your site ranks for the search term "car insurance" and its a terrible site it doesn't mean that it won't convert just as well for advertisers bidding on "car insurance" as the next great quality site would that is 1 spot under you in the rankings. Quality of site doesn't factor in to CPC. Conversions do, but that is more about targeted traffic rather then site quality.

To analyze your performance in Adsense you can put different channel for each website so you can see and analyze which website that earn more. When you create your ads there will be option where you insert your channel so when people click from that channel you will find it on your dashboard

of course different topic/keyword pays differently per click. for example, finance related keywords are always going to outpay games keywords

If you want to get a rough idea of what clicks might pay, go to the Google External Keyword tool. Make sure you login, or you will not see the next item.

On the left hand side click on the "Contextual Targeting Tool". Do a search using keywords you are considering. The results will show you the approximate bid you would need to make for buying Adwords ads to be placed in Contextual Ads on Adsense sites.

Multiply that number by 68% and you have an approximate of what your highest value clicks are likely to be.

You will quickly discover slight variations in wording and phrases within a niche can make a tremendous difference in click values.

This is not an exact science. The numbers you are seeing are for BUYING ads for targeted phrases. It just means the likelihood is higher those are the ads which will show up on your site using the same phrases.

Hopefully that does not confuse the issue even further....
