It's not surprising, websites like autoblogs were the exact types that Google Panda was targeting.

I supsect its autoblogs that are mixing in original content in a certain ratio - 1 in 6 post or so - that are still managing to maintain rank. This way they don't appear as simple copies.

Even if they are mixing in original content, Google could see that 90% of duplicate and just punish the entire domain I guess.

Yea but if sites like EzineArticles can detect spun articles as good as they can, you know that Google can tell when it's copied.

      Lol, point made!

Unique content doesn't necessarily mean quality content.

If the content sucks, not much of a point trying to rank the page, If the traffic bounces.

I think these autoblog have small paragraph and it mix with photo, videos, people still spend time at these blog, so it have some value with visitors.
Also autoblog focus on long tail keyword, people dont mind to touch these keyword, that why autoblog still survive.

Very true, even if Google indexes it, you know you wouldn't stay on a site reading a spun article where every other sentence doesn't make sense

I have a few autoblogs getting nice traffic. (some pagerank too)

I think everyone overestimates the google panda; though, I also integrate unique content.

If you consider the vast quantity of websites with "republished" content, REALLY consider, your head will explode. Google can't decipher with 100% accuracy legitimacy of content and source of information as well as people lead on.

Panda isn't over. As things get shuffled the proverbial 'cream' will rise to the top or sink to the bottom (if it's gone sour). It will be curdled, skimmed, pasteurised and toasted before this one is done.

i love these posts because it's so clear that nobody has any insight to what their commenting on but some people are just so certain. google isn't specifically targeting autoblogs. they're targeting **** blogs that are mfa. if an autoblog provides value, it will be fine.. and many do. i'm still making thousands with mine.

and once again, you guys don't seem to understand what duplicate content is. i'll let you search on that though.. as explaining it gets old.

It's oh so fun to watch them though, isn't it?

Autoblogs are illegal, and so is 'duplicate content'!!!

Consider yourself warned - Google will show up at your house, rip your computer out of your wall, and then sick the IRS on you for every cent you made in AdSense!

Not only that, but you'll be permanently blacklisted from the Internet.

      Forever.

Lol, okay maybe I inadvertently fed the frenzy a little bit. Oopsy daisy.

Just accept it guitarjosh...These threads will never ever stop existing.

Is there any tips you can give to an aspiring autoblogger? I've been trying to track you down for a couple days now. You seem to be one of the very very few resourceful people on this topic.

You will probably want to unlink that email before it gets picked up by the tons of email harvesters that I'm sure are crawling these forums at any given time.

I don't think that autoblogs were effected by Google's update necessarily due to duplicate content. Most (not all) autoblogs to tend to be content farms which was specifically was Panda was geared towards.

I'm always careful about that - you can end up on way too many spam lists that are floating around everywhere if you post your email on sites as popular as this.
