Category or Date in URL

I know there is some debate about which is better, but which do you prefer and why? I am asking of course from an SEO perspective. Do you prefer using the category/post name in the URL or the month/year/post name in URL?

    Often i used post name because it look good and attractive if some enter in website and read our post properly.

    It's better to use the category not only from a SEO perspective but it looks better in the visitors eyes too...

    I'd use Postname. it's a custom setting

    Always always always just use the post name.

    If your really smart though you build you sites by pages, blog sites are getting raped right now

      I don't know, I have many blog sites that are doing well. Could you elaborate? Or is it just Panda?

      All of them are using postnames for the URL also BTW.
