Targetting a new keyword = new page?

I have a wordpress blog, and i want to target a new keyword. So basically I'm going to create a new post/page and optimize it using Platinum SEO, and add the keyword to the end of my url. From there i will add external links to boost authority and page rank. Is this how the pro's would do it?

However should i direct these external back links to my homepage or the actual page im optimizing around this new keyword

    no its do not means to have a new page...........it only mean that now you are competing with some new pages which are already in competition throug h that keyword............

    @maestero2010 - Your reply does not make sense. Why are you talking about competing pages? Chini wants to target a new keyword with a new page and was asking where to direct external backlinks. Chini was not asking about creating new pages or competition.

      Hi DeanJames,

      If you look at all of maestero2010 posts you will notice that they are all pure gobblety gook. I don't believe maestero2010 is a real person. My guess is that it's some sort of spam bot that's trying get links into as many posts as possible.

      I haven't seen a single post from that member that has made any since and there seems to be no reply when you ask questions.
