Sandboxed or Google Dance

My site previously ranked on pages 1 and 2 for all keywords, but three days ago disappeared from the results altogether. The only exception to this is if I search while I am logged in to my Google account, where the positions are higher than they used to be. If I search for "mydomain.co.uk", my site appears in position 1. The site is only 3 months old. Why has my site disappeared altogether for it's keywords, and should I be doing anything to put it right My traffic was building up very nicely and now it has completely bombed.

I had been adding some links on blogs the previous day. The blogs were using tumblr, and the blog articles themselves ranked on page 1 of google for the same keywords as my site, which was unusual as normally my blog articles rank way back at page 10 or something. I have just noticed that my homepage is ranking for my keywords, albeit on page 8, and not the exact page match that i used to have.

What is the domain name? If you dont want to post in here you can PM me

Edit: nevermind, I went back and re-read your post again.

I know you said your site shows up with quotes, but try it using:

    site:yourdomain.com

    or whatever extension you have.

If it shows up with that string, then its not sandboxed. Just google dance.

WEll anything is possible in SEO. It most likely is just Google moving thing around - this happens a lot. Google changes things multiple times per day so it is not shocking to have sites drop out on results and then come back days or weeks later.

The simple answer to this is fairly easy... Its "Google Dance"...

Because, there is no such thing as the "SANDBOX".... If there is or was something like that or similar to what everyone thinks it is, you could call it the "SPAMBOX" instead..

There might be something that behaves like what you think a "SANDBOX" is, but it has to do with the algo, and they didn't build or create something per say, to do these things.

All this so-called ‘sandbox’ is, is just a LOT of internet marketers that don’t really understand how google ranks and/or filters pages/sites, so when one of these sites gets bombed or does not preform as well as one would want them to, it's really really easy to call it "SANDBOX"

You might want to check out your internal linking structure..

Thanks for the input guys. The site shows up for "mysite.com" with and without quotes. Some keywords it finds my site about 10 pages back, but never the correct page for the keyword, just a random page from my site rather than what it's optimised for. This only started 4 days ago, it had been running smoothly for 2-3 months prior to this. Whatever the cause, i hope it's resolved soon as it's driving me insane. I know i should leave it and let G sort it, but I can't stop looking at it and trying to figure out what on earth it's doing! I'm really a programmer and web designer, trying to learn this SEO and online marketing caper as I go, and how much i prefer the logic and science of programming to the random chaos of Google!

My site keywords also pushed back for the last week, and today i could see my keywords back in the same position. This may be because of the Google Page rank updation. If you use duplicate content or any of the black hat SEO your site ranking may goes down. So try not use black hat SEO.

Also if you login to your account and check for keyword ranking, you could see increase in the keyword ranking in Google. So log out and check.

to see true search engine rankings you need to ensure you are logged out of your Google account. If you can try to use another browser and each time you make an update, clear this cache and then search again.

google boosts up rankings for a website for 2,3 weeks before it bumps the rankings down. If it is only a couple of keywords they will more than likely return, if all of them dissappear then check your site dor duplicate content (you can use copyscape) for that.

Same here, it's a Google dance if you ask me...

I've uploaded a site a week ago and it was on page 1 of Google for two keywords and page 4 on another keyword and now you cannot find them at the top 1,000 even...

There is not way it's a punishment or whatever since I haven't blasted links or anything and going from page 1 to nowhere is a dance, especially when the site is new....

Hope it returns fast, keeping building links at the moment...
