Usually if you do have too many outbound links it can be seen as a form of advertizing and you can be penalized (especially if they are not relevant to the content).

Depending on your competition and context of you links the removal of them might help you in the SERPs.

Then again you might just need more backlinks.

Yes, OBL basically leaks PageRank. But, you can compensate that with more inbound links.

I should have specified. I meant that I had about 150 links to different pages on my site (Same Domain). Does this reduce the chance to rank for my exact domain keyword?

Those are internal links, & no they don't hurt anything, they actually help the internal pages.

At the same time you need to only link to an internal page when it makes sense & is related.

For internal linking to other sub-pages, always make sure you create a link back from those pages to the home page. Best to use contextual links here, but you can simply put something likes go back to home. Otherwise, it will still leak PageRank from the home page or the page you want to rank.

Less OBL is says to be good in seo.
So you must have less OBL and then you can get high more high PR and rank.

I think he is talking about links ON his page and you are talking about pages that link to him.

Apparently, if the links are pointing at websites other than yours, they might be considered to be paid links by Google, assuming that you are selling links and naturally, your overall web rankings may drop after a while. Too many outbound links will also affect your web authority level, lowering the PR of your site but if they simply are parts of your navigation settings, that is OK and there is nothing to worry about but you may lower the number and pick only the required ones.

Number of links appearing on a page needs to be in connection with the contents which are visible on that spot, otherwise the site would be very much like directories which merely contain links. If you add contents to your site and from time to time add links to other relevant spots and blogs from within your contents, even doing that on your homepage, that is acceptable but simply adding too many OB links to your homepage may sound a bit strange, like selling text links online.

No, having less outbound links does not mean higher rank. In fact the more your link to authentic and relevant resources the more impact it will have on your SERP rankings.

Some believed that OBL leads to PR sculpting. Yes, it does but on the other side it is getting good ranking for your website. So, its a good deal, I believe.
