Just Got Banned From Facebook Ads And We Do Not Know Why

Hi Warriors,

I recently tried to place an ad on Facebook and received a message back saying i was violating their terms, which to be honest did not clearly explain the problem, i resubmitted the ad again after making minor changes and wham, same message !!

After making changes to the ad 5 times until the ad to be honest was now totally different i then get a message saying i am now totally banned and this is final.

My wife then attempted to place an ad and she never even got over the first hurdle, BANNED !! straight away with the same old violation words etc, she only tried 1 ad lol.

Has anyone else suffered this problem or is it just us

Im a little confused, we did research and apparently they could be automated messages that where triggered by something picked up so where advised to contact Facebook,

So we did !!!!!!!!!!! BANNED AND THATS FINAL,

mmmmmmmm, what for !!!!!!!!

All we can do is move on regardless but we are very dissapointed with the lack of assistance from Facebook.

We would love to hear your thoughts on this.

All the best,
Steven.

I thought this was totally disgusting treatment from a social media site which has let us be very active on there with 2 of our businesses, we even promote Facebook, but it now appears that maybe Facebook are not very social themselves !!

I did a quick search and found an ad saying something like loose ten years of your looks in ten minutes, i could not believe it lol
Even in our niche i found ads which in my opinion where a joke.

I fear Facebook may become like Google Adwords. They get built up by the little guys promoting their business then, once they have a good base of big names and brands they boot off the little guys. It's a sad but true scenario.

I hope everything works out for you; keep trying and remember there are always other traffic sources out there.

Actually, I believe you'll find that Facebook - like Google - built its ad network on the big guys.

When the little guys showed up, they acted like jerks and ignored the rules and violated everything from basic ethical standards all the way up to international trade laws.

And once the ad network owners had exhausted their patience trying to educate these people, they said "that is IT, you go to HELL! You go to hell and you DIE!"

And the little guy stalks off bitching about how unfair life is.

Because the little guy, more often than not, does not know or care what he is doing.

I highly disagree. It's a fact that both Adwords and Facebook advertising platforms were built on a base of smaller businesses, both online and offline, then they built their way up to the big league...there's no debate about that and if there was, it'd be entirely illogical.

Yes, there may be smaller businesses out there who don't follow the rules and regulations, but in order to run an efficient company it's necessary to weed out those individuals who commit the crimes in particular. Putting a blanket on everything doesnt solve the problem, and never will.

As for your statement:"the little guy stalks off bitching about how unfair life is", I think any company would be sad and/or disappointed if they lost one of their main sources of advertising and traffic ...You over exaggerated that response entirely.... Anyhow, it's best to just move on and find another source and learn as you go. Problem solved.

Most people don't go out intentionally trying to get themselves banned from an ad network and if they did, don't you think they'd know they wont be coming back? Try reconsidering your perspective on the matter...

I still don't know what ad got Steve banned, so I can't verify anything and point fingers here or there, but that issue is beyond my control... It never hurts to wish somebody good luck though, so once again, I hope everything works out for you Steve.

I'm going to bed now, goodnight WF!

          Wrong.

AdWords - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

At first AdWords advertisers would pay a monthly amount, and Google would then set up and manage their campaign. To accommodate small businesses and those who wanted to manage their own campaigns, Google soon introduced the AdWords self-service portal.
When disputing facts, it is generally a good idea to check them. Some of us have been around long enough to remember the introduction of Google AdWords.

Most people don't go out intentionally trying to get themselves banned from an ad network
That's true! They just don't know or care whether what they're doing will get them banned, because they will never actually reveal what they did beyond saying they didn't do anything wrong. If they get banned, they will simply blame the ad network without any justification at all.

        True talk...

Big guys are big because they know what they are doing and always hire a professional or take the time to read laws in anywhere they have interest.

So it's basically about safeguarding your own interest FIRST by abiding by the rules.

      Dwayne,

Lots of people believe that's exactly what Google did. I would not be surprised if Facebook followed the same path later down the road.

Sorry to hear about your dealings with FB , that frequently is the result of playing poker with a 500# gorilla.
I avoid product ads and go for grabbing them on a fan page then marketing to them off Facebook. Same with anything Google, Yahoo, Microsoft, CPA etc etc Capture then bring to my web and market to them. I don't ban me. A ton of IM is focusing on marketing directly on Facebook . Why grow Facebook. The goal should be capture and retrieve the traffic, not feed FB.

Take the time to read FB terms of services. I think you must
have violated a term somewhere along the line. I know that
"fine prints" are hard to read. But if you want to advertise
    there badly, read their rules.

it could be many things. maybe the photo you used was a registered photo or the keywords tipped off an alarm or it could be your competition sent your ad to the FB staff saying BS things. I've seen it happen where competitors would outright make things up just to get your account closed. We're in tough time still and people do dirty things. so thats my share.

I actually had the same issue, but I wasn't banned. What I found was that the ads need to go to a blog or other website that pre sells your offer. Whenever I link straight to a capture page they disapprove my ads.

I'm not sure what it was that kept getting your ad denied, but if you continued to do that certain thing, perhaps FB thought that you were someone who was simply trying to break the rules. No fault to you, but if someone kept changing something 5 times but kept the violating issue, I'd think they were up to something too.

Hi Guys, thankyou so much for your great feedback, i havent been active very long on the Warrior Forum but i have to say this Forum is made fantastic by you guys, i believe this is one of the best resources on the net for IM info.

Sorry i have only just got back, firstly i have no problem saying what the ad was for, and secondly i only changed the ad 5 times to try to get it submitted, what else can you do if facebook do not actually say what is wrong, the most they said was that they do not allow work from home ads.

Our ad started with a simple photo of my wife Elaine with a title learn the systems a couple use to make a living online, we linked the ad to our squeeze page.

We then went through changing the ad, re wording etc, even leaving out the squeeze page and linking straight to our site, still no good.

We ended up with an ad with a title Your Online Biz Academy and wording based around tutoring to build an online business etc.

We have built several online businesses in different niches but never advertised on facebook so im sure we will be fine without them. The content on our site is based on pure fact with no BS.

I find it quite funny actually as i recently discovered a Facebook ad saying how you can look 10 years younger in 10 minutes, lol, i then went on to find ads in the IM niche which where total BS.

My wife Elaine never even got to try an ad so how can you work that out !! they obviously decided to discriminate us both on the one try.

My opinion is simple, Facebook allows its users to promote there businesses on Facebook using pages etc and because this assists with interaction on Facebook, but when the crunch comes and you get a genuine couple who have made a living online for years who decide to move into providing tuitition then they dont want to know simply because they want the big guys paying high dollar for clicks to have a free run. This is not good for the consumer as the consumer requires options to make the choice themselves, and that choice should not be removed or taken away from them.

We can say without any shadow of doubt that there are ads on Facebook which are not even in the same league as we are when it comes to honesty. But not to worry, life goes on and so do we, we will not be trying Facebook again.

Thankyou again for your great feedback,

    All the best,
    Steven.

      Here are Facebook ad guidelines.

      https://www.facebook.com/ad_guidelines.php

Could you tell me if the 'no work from home' ads is on this page as I could not find it. Maybe this is mentioned elsewhere on their site as prohibited ad content. I'm sure they could construe 'work from home' opportunities as being misleading as they rely on possibly sketchy testimonials. But then again, so do most diet/weight loss plans sold online and those are regularly advertised on Facebook ads.

I too got banned from Facebook. I did get a few ads disapproved, but since they were the same as ads that were approved and had been up for a while, I was confused. I E-mailed for clarification, but got no answer. These ads went to an E-mail capture page to sign up for a recipe newsletter. The ad copy said sign up for our newsletter. I am not sure what rules I violated.

I wasn't banned, but like you ran into the same problems for getting ad approval. Funny how my ads were disapproved but a check of ads running were very similar and promoting work from home type opportunities. It all seems very disorganized as far as FB advertising. Completely fed up I started looking to outsource my PPC and found a great company, Silver Scope Promotion. Best part is they specialize in work from home business advertising, especially affiliate marketers and they run on Google! 18 months, no slaps, no suspensions and I run an affiliate replicated website. They have just opened up the program and are accepting new clients. Pm me if you want some more info.

In a totally legitimate way, of course. But either A) a FB bot caught it and any use of a presumably prohibited word gets you nuked, or B) some half-literate dim-wit in the FB ads dept (it's staffed by those, unfortunately) took the rules entirely too literally, not understanding that there is more than one meaning for the word (and entirely missing the context, too).
