Adsense Disabled: Mass Adsense Suspension in November 2011!

November 10-14, 2011 -- something fishy happened, regarding the lost
of hordes of Google Adsense accounts...

Indonesian publishers are currently talking about this...
Hordes of Adsense accounts were disabled by Google.

We're not talking about Spammy sites here, but we're
talking about sites that earn up to x,xxx per month
with Adsense.

Many of them are old accounts too, which have been
making money with Adsense since 2005.

What makes it more 'fishy' is the fact that some people
receive the 'invalid activity' emails from Adsense to their
Gmail accounts which are NOT tied to ANY Adsense account!

How come?

Was Adsense using some kind of 'robot' to do the
suspension automatically?

If it was done manually, how come Gmail accounts without
Adsense tied to them received the suspension notice?

Whatever happenned back there, one thing for sure is that
ALL EARNINGS were eliminated. Adsense will not pay for previous
earnings in those disabled accounts.

Swell.

And this makes us think...

Is it because Adsense refuse to pay such amount
that they blatantly disabling accounts?

Oh come on...

As Indonesian publisher I am really blessed since my account still active since a year ago. What I am doing is just make sure that advertiser get convert from my traffic by only giving traffic from search engine and also only targeting keyword that has advertiser. So traffic that comes to my site from search engine will find relevant ads that will reflect to converting for advertiser.

    Cheers

That's why I don't like ad networks, even if you are a genuine publisher some prick can gift you a ban by some simple tricks & you can do 'nothing'~

Those accounts that received the google disable notifications may have been attempted to create a google adsense account before. There must be some kind of links you know how google run things, they associate all their programs/services to one Google email if you desire.

Thou its really unfair how the big G does it things.

OK then, but there is NO Adsense account tied to it.
So how come there was any 'invalid activity'?

This gives the impression that GA were not actually reviewing
      those websites manually...

Yes, it's true. My adsense account had been disabled by google on Nov. 19, 2011 and I was surprised because since I created an account with them in Nov. 2006 until before it was disabled I had never done any click fraud. My site has just been optimized for adsense and I started to get increase of adsense earnings since I applied what taught in the adsense course. Is that google's reason to disable Indonesian publisher accounts which indicating that the google is not willing to give more money to their publishers coming from Indonesia despite I had never clicked their ads on my site at all? It's pretty strange as the big G company doing like that as it will of course tarnish their image themselves because they disabled accounts to their publishers with nonsense reason to protect their advertisers.

So if the google just wants to welcome with UK or USA publishers, and not other countries like Indonesia, what for they promote their adsense program to outside of USA or UK and of course their advertisers will only get the possibility of purchase from the buyer from just USA or UK, not other countries because their ads will be limited to appear to any countries, just in their countries USA or UK only. I think quick or slow it will affect their image not to be admitted to many countries outside USA and UK, because really as the advertisers they have the risk of their ads to get clicked by the readers with no purchase or purchase, and the google actually cannot protect them by disabling many adsense accounts because it will pretty affect to the ads limitation of the advertisers not to be spread to many sites again.

Yeah. As publisher you can come from Indonesia or another countries but you can promote or set target on USA, UK or Canada about your site/blog, but I think it is not the reason. The most possible reason is click fraud!

I think it probably has a lot to do with the panda update.

They probably decided to use similar means against publishers too.

      Just a thought.

I am earning fine with my adsense, there is no problems with my adsense. One secret key I had learned that Nobody should give his site addresses where they used adsense to the friends or someone like that. Keep it 100% secret.

It seems the google has also refused to give approval to any new adsense account especially to Indonesian publishers. It can be seen at their blogger.com site as there is no longer option to make earning on blogger as it was usually used as the way to register a new adsense account. The google seems not to see whether a publisher earns much money or not from their adsense program with no mistake of click fraud or not but they might focus to the Indonesian publishers to eliminate their accounts one by one. So for you the Indonesian publishers if your adsense account were not disabled by google it doesn't mean you will be safe because there are possibility the google will do it one day without your consent like me, it just wait your turn maybe. Usually the more grow and developed a company like Google the more they will be pretty arrogant and picky to their customers. They forgot at how they must look for and get the trust from their customers in the past when they were still small, so when they have become giant or number one in this search engine game they will kick their old customers that they think not to be needed again because they have a lot of money/investment from just Europe or USA countries.

Sad to hear.. and scary. If you happen to have experienced this, I'd suggest going after advertisers directly and selling them ads. If you site ranks well and has nice traffic, I think it would be a very good option!

Panda has nothing to do with adsense.

Invalid activity is a euphemism for click fraud.
It comes in many shapes and sizes.

Yes, google does things 99.99999% by robot.
They have to. They can't afford to mess around
with um.... "certain" people. They err on the side of caution.

Yes, google is fishy, they are getting to be non-friendly.
So please, everyone, delete your adsense accounts ASAP.

Why would they pay you for money generated via click fraud?
      I never get that question.

With adsense, there are none so blind as those who will not see.

        Paul,

Simple answer: because "the competition" could do those invalid clicks to bring you down.

I suppose that Google is ruled by strict economic criteria. It has nothing to do with hating anyone. They want their advertisers spend each time more and attract new ones. To achieve that, they need that the clicks end up in purchases. They need conversions. If your websites get many clicks, although they are legits, but no conversions, this is a bad experience for their advertisers and your adsense account is at risk, as Google holds all rights. Probably this same principle could apply to a country with low conversions. But who knows?, Google is not going to tell it publicly.

How does google know if a visitor to one of their advertisers that originated on your site ended up completing a purchase or not?

          Hi The Expert,

I am only doing a mere supposition that sounds some logical in the context of massive ban of accounts. What Google knows or doesn`t know and how, I have no idea.

Odly when I applied to adsense a long time ago I had my first email rejected because my location was already used by someone else that I lived with doing IM. Anyway, I applied with another email/location and that's the account I've been using ever since.

For whatever reason they decided to "close" the first account (which was never truly opened anyway) this month. I was kinda confused when I saw that but anyway no harm done to the account I use

The question now is what should you do, if you only received a warning to make changes to your site to conform with the Adsense Terms and Conditions, Should you disable Adsense on your sites while you make the changes, which was never even stated but you have to guess the changes they want u to make.

What will make your account get banned apart from Click Fraud. I mean what other major violation will make ur account get banned? or receive a temporary warning.

I don't know I had my account for several years since 2008 I believe. I had made some income off my adsense account but never seen any pay for my efforts. I got curious and decided to check my account and they were holding it for tax information. I filled that all out and still no pay from my adsense account. I bought a website from flippa from Indonesia seller and inserted my account id. A month later I received my email saying my account was suspended. I appealed and answered the questions truthfully. later that night I received the final email saying my account was suspended permanently. All the income I accumulated was given back to the advertisers and I was left with nothing.
