Hey guys,

I see my sites going up and down, had a keyword on spot 50 in Google...went to 30+ then 19....then dropped to 25 and now 46 and all this in one month! What is that??

I started to think what is the best way to build quality links these days post panda and with everything Google is doing and I came to this:

- Guest Blogging

- BMR (still effective?)

- Head the ebook of "Lazy Link Building" is quite decent, anyone tried and saw results?

I know about social bookmarking and so on but I really think these are the most legit if you can call it and powerful backlinks...

Ideas?

Thanks guys...

I know BMR style links are still popular, look at the backlinks for the sites on page #2 in the SERPs for the keyword car insurance, most of those backlinks I see are Index page links.

          Deborah,

BMR is Build My Rank - BuildMyRank.com – Link Building Service Featuring High Quality One-Way Backlinks

It is a paid "guest blogging" network...at least that would be the easiest way to describe it. For a monthly fee you can put posts into their network which link back to your site. They have somewhere between 2500 and 3000 blogs with good PR.

I have heard that after the panda update videos and blog be very helpful in getting the more effective result for the site. But i see from sometime that blogs , social bookmarking , directory submission, videos and articles have been very helpful in providing the more result.
And as now panda is going to consider the more traffic of the site for the results and more from the social media. So usage of these methods with the social media will be the best way.

Panda has been hitting sites based on content / on site issues. You will know if its Panda updates as they become known dates, for example the update on 14th October was Panda. Again, its largely on site stuff that affects that.

Guest blogging is a great way to build good quality organic looking links

BMR is still effective, had a great result with that not so long ago, but despite being "best of breed", BMR is still a splog farm and no match for guest posting IMO.

As to which is effecive... well in the short term guest posts take a lot of time to first find the sites, then write the posts. BMR... subscription + offshore writer = links on demand which still work nicely.

Long term BMR sites are likely to be de-inexed, lose PR, trust etc etc. A legit blog would normally grow in stature over time.

So, I would do both... BMR for the now... Guest Posts for the long term.

You can still write a good content and build links to it..You can make a good link building plan from contents. For Example, you can write a good quality articles (all different from each other) and then post it to popular article directories like EZA, Article Base etc. with a link back to your site.

After that, you can now blast them with Bookmarking links and other links from different sources.

I would still say that writing good quality original articles, and submitting them to article driectories such as EZA, and Go Articles is a good way to build your backlinks naturally, as well as guest blogging.

Anyone else have other good ideas?

Blog comments are still very relevant.

I have found through a personal experiment that backlinks count much more from recently updated sites and articles. So commenting on a blog post from 2006 doesn't do much for you but 2011 does.

Article links still give good results. Additionally you can social bookmark them to rank well. Don't use primary keyword to bookmark them. Just use a very competitive keyword

Its all about fresh content and authority links. Think of your web 2.0 properties as long term investments. Don't worry about having 100 properties, worry about having 20 that are unique, well maintained and updated regularly.

Personally, I would stay away from sites that are too easy for robots to access and that have high spam content. I like squidoo, but I guarantee they will take a hit, too much spam. And look at the guys who invested in Google Knol - now the Knol project is going away.

In my opinion, you need to diversify your link sources, but not so much that you cannot build authority into your forum profile, web 2.0 property, article author account or other source. Do quantity in the first months, but develop these properties, they will be the only effective ones when you exceed a PR 2.

Thats how to beat a Panda, or a Farmer, or any other algorithmic detection.

FRESH content and DIVERSE links!!!!! god if i've said to people once i've said a million times!

its really not that hard guys to work out google, natural = fresh content and DIVERSE links which is what google is looking for plain and simple, google will know if your links are not natural as in 10000s of spamming blog comments expecting to rank! give google what it wants and you will be golden!

If you think about it, fresh content will really vary rarely get links, unless the site is authoritative. Link building is not natural in any way.

Unique content on a 3 day basis i believe, submitting to quality directories, creating link profile from sites that target the same keywords/niche that you are

Making sure you links are embedded in unique content is the best way to build links post panda, period, I do SEO everyday on 100s of sites and I think the type of website doesn't matter, it all comes down to PR, OBL, content, etc......
