Setting up private network - Need to hide whois info?

Hey guys,
We're looking at setting a private network for our own use. Those who have done this - do you get privacy on the whois info? Maybe use something like WhoisGuard: Protect your privacy using WhoisGuard (Whois protection) Do you think hiding your whois makes you untrustworthy to Google? Also, when registering/renewing domains, do you just stick to 1 year at a time, or do you think registering for multiple years builds trust with Google?

    You absolutely need to hide whois if you are setting up a network. Otherwise Google will know you own all the sites and the value of the network will go down significantly.

    The most important thing when running a network is minimizing the number of footprints, and the sites having the same public whois is a big footprint.

      Yes to whois. No to needing to register for more than a year. Google can't and won't maintain that privacy on the internet makes you unreliable

      Google is a domain registrar, they know your Whois info even if it is privacy protected.

    You need to hide the whois info.. to make sure no one can detect your network, else its too easy for google to discover it.

    godaddy.com does free private registration for 5 or more bulk domain purchase. 1and1.com provide private registration for free with any purchase. I've used both for domain names but have never hosted anything with them.

    Yes you should definately hide your whois as if you have a load of sites registered to mr x linking to one site google will not be too happy!!

    There are plenty of codes out there, godady code GDBBA1550 will get you a good discount, I think name.com is FREEWHOIS and, yes you guessed it, it's fee!!
