Dump my .info sites or not?

Hello Everyone,

I noticed that there are a lot of knowledgeable folks here. Maybe someone could chime in with your suggestions...

I have a couple of questions. I have about 40 .info sites that are 2 years old and coming due again in the next month.

They do not have any PR at this time, but the sites don't look bad, I just haven't updated these sites in the last year.

In your opinion, should I keep these sites and work with them more or just let them expire because they are .info sites?

Any suggestions and thank you in advance for your help.

Denis

-Do you get any revenue from these sites?
-Do they rank well on G?
    -Is the overall cost justified?

If the answer to all of these is yes, go for a renewal.

I have a few .info sites. Some are washouts, in which case i won't bother renewing them. But I've got some .coms like that too. If the sites are going to make me any revenue then I'll renew them. But if I think to get the revenue I need to do more work on them and I don't have the time, then I'll let them expire too.

It kind of depends if you have the time to develop them and even if you do, is there good potential in the domain name.

What you might want to think about doing is a bulk flip. If they're keyword rich domain names, some folks might pay for them. They are a couple of years old so that's a bit stronger than buying them brand new.

Robbie, everyone is giving me some great information....You have brought up all the ideas that I had.

All the sites are off Niches and keywords from Niche Profit Classroom so I know they are good. I got the .info sites cause I was in a hurry to build mage sites to see how it was going to work out.

Mage sites were off of my Wpmage membership. (Kinda sorry I bought into that)

I was maybe thinking of what you suggest...build them up a little and then bundle them and flip em'.

These sites are basically adsense and a few cb products.

I threw them up and let them sit, hoping for someone to come along... And we know, that doesn't work.

      Great information here guys...thanks,

      Denis

its always going to be about what the sites are doing FOR you rather than the domain extention. Advice would always be to favour .com's just as they always rank better, but there is nothing to stop .info doing the same just often takes more work. If you have bee nworking on your 40 infos for 2 years, have traffic coming in from them, and they are paying for themselves then ofcourse its worth keeping them. However if they are doing nothing for you, dont have valuable keywords, and no traffic, or revenues from the websites on them, its probably a good time to move onto different domains. I had a weight loss product on clickbank about a year back, it was on an info domain, and this just caused me problems, (mostly because the competition isvery steep with such products) but it would have been much easier to manage and grow the business had it been on com or net! hope that helps! - its never the name, its what you make of it, if its worth something keep it

I have 50 infos. 21 renewal is coming next month. But i found that one was ranking to page1 after months of casual linking. So, analyse you info domains and find profitability and also, if those domain have lot of long tails, keep them. But you have to work info domain works if we add work on them.

Just one easy question: Are they worth instant investment according to your plan?
If you think they are, don't hesitate, renew them. If not, dump them.

I would drop the ones that do not receive any traffic.

The domain extension eg .info does not make any difference when trying to rank a site. I have done various tests on this.

You can get a .info domain to rank just as easy/hard as a .com domain and Google does not put more weight onto a .com.

The only time an extension affects rankings it when you are targeting a country, a .co.uk domain will be easier to rank in google.co.uk and a .es domain will be easier to rank in google.es.
