Aged domains with no PR

I know everyone says aged domains are good because they already have page rank and backlinks but what if the domain doesnt have any backlinks or page rank? I found a domain on godaddy auctions that is 7 years old that will fit my niche but its PR0 and it doesnt have any pagerank. I searched it in google using site:domain and it has about 6 results and they are the pages to the site but that is it...that site is no longer up though.

Will a domain like this still help? I know people say you can build alot more backlinks alot faster with aged domains...would this be the only advantage to purchasing a domain like this?

Thanks

well it will help because domain age is indeed a factor when ranking a website so atleast you will have age. As for aged domain with backlinks and PR, those are a bit more expensive

Yeah, it will help, but not much, low results and non-exiting page rank is not much of a good factor even if its aged. So don't expect wonders if you buy an old domain.

Will it at least help as far as backlinking? I'll be able to create a lot more backlinks in a short period of time without getting penalized right?

Yeah sure. But I suggest you build backlinks in a steady way no matter the age of the domain. It kinnda looks bad if the domain had no backlinks activity over the past 3 years and you blast it with thousands of backlinks in a couple of days.

I agree, most people buy backlink packages for 10000 backlinks then get Google Slapped. SEO is an art, basically nobody knows it, but some will give you advise from trial and error experiences. One of them is do NOT give a 7 year old site 10000 backlins at once.

aged domains are great even if they have no pr, but it depends on what you are planning to use it for. You can find aged domains with pr2 - 4 easily on GD though, why not search around a bit more?

Is there a way to search for domains with pr on GD? Every one I find that has keywords I need ends up not having anything. I've been searching through the closeouts and bargains because I dont have a membership to GD auctions.. Could this be the reason why Im not finding any with pr?

It is also helpful if the name actually means something.. a name like ahozrzrf.com is worthless. If it has an actual word in it that is pertinent, it will be useful. I have bought several aged domains with no pagerank and used them for new sites.

I would like to buy aged domains and not register a new one unless I have to, I feel that they have more chances to succeed but that's how I fee it doesn't mean its right lol

Think about it this way, I am assuming nobody did place a bid on that domain then wait until few mins and bid.. it might be more expensive and it will cost you 10$ more or 5$ but its worth it, I don't think anybody can go bankrupt from 10 or 20 $ .. you can spend this amount on a meal..

I'm seeing tons of disinformation in this thread.....if you think that buying a pr0 domain that is aged will somehow help you in the serp's you are wasting your money.

Pagerank, Pagerank, Pagerank....oh, did I mention Pagerank?

Google LOVES TLD's with Pagerank. An aged domain with no links pointing to it is just as useless as a new domain with no links pointing to it.

If the name makes sense and it has age then it will definitely help.

Kindly help me on that matter...i have normally purchased a domain named: gtfs.net
about 7-8days ago from namecheap.com. Till there all look okay! But today when i search the age of this domain it shows 7years 9months old domain! I'm totally astonished...
the website wayback machine shows that from 2004 to about 2007, it was owned by "Golden Trust Finance & Security (GTFS)", after that, this domain again purchased by another company named: "Global Trading & Financial Services Limited (GTFS)" from 2008 to about 2010.
The first company was from Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
And the second company was from Tehran, Iran.

Kindly clear that if this domain was owned twice by the different owners, then
    1) Why it was listed in normal panel in namecheap.com(without any premium category)?
    2) This domain has no backlink & also PR 0 ....is this domain still valuable?
    3) How much worth it should be now?
    4) Will there any problem arise if i continue with domain?

Please clear all these complications...& kindly suggest me what i should do now?

    Thanks

      1. Because the domain was dropped. Once a domain has dropped, anyone can register it just like any new domain. There are thousands of dropped domains that become available everyday.

      2. An aged domain even without backlinks or PR still has some benefit (although not huge)

      3. It's worth as much as anyone is willing to pay for it. At this stage you'd be lucky to get more than $25 for it.

      4. Only if GTFS is a registered trademark or the domain was blacklisted in the past.

I think the key to this is the fact that the domain is still indexed in Google. IMHO if it isn't indexed, it may have been banned at some point.

Yes, you could setup an additional website within your niche to drive additional traffic to an offer or money site. This domain sounds like it would help you branch out within your niche.
