Can anyone explain what exactly social bookmarking is? I need to use this for my class project, but I'm having trouble with it.

    Its basically a link building strategy based around submitting your site to various "Bookmarking Sites." Some of these include Digg, Propeller, Reddit, StumbleUpon, and Delicious. The sites are designed to basically save the sites that you find useful or that you would like to keep on hand such as the favorites in your toolbar. The difference is these are online so you can access your bookmarks from any computer thats connected to the web.

    The reason they are a link building strategy is because if your site is "Bookmarked" they can be shared with others and you've added authority to your bookmarked sites.

    Social bookmarking is the best method to get the more backlinks and traffic to the site. And with the social bookmarking , one can make any new page fast indexed in google. But providing the unique description in the submission is the most beneficial thing to get the more results for our site.
