My sites range from 3rd to 9th on google's first page I have broad keywords
Like anti cellulite 4th on google ,lip plumper 4th on google.3 card poker 4th on google.
and about 6 other sites .
I have not had one sale As these sites are coming up for renewal I am wondering to carry on.
Is there a massive difference from ranking 4th to first.

Those are very broad search terms. It's not clear their intention is to buy. The probably just want general info.

    BROAD BROAD BROAD!

That's why you are NOT making conversions.

Your keywords are "ok", but borderline broad. Conversion rate won't be too high anyway.

After looking at your site I see a lot of text, the writing quality is "ok" and the ad placement is "ok", but nothing makes me want to click on one of those ads. To be honest my eyes glazed over them as I read about what I came to read about.

Your text didn't actually say anything like "to get rid of cellulite you need to try this cream", it basically told me about cellulite and that I should probably do something about it.

Nothing is focused and although you are providing content you are not providing a call to action.

The traffic greatly increases when your keywords are on 1-3 in Google. Anything other than that will not even get a quarter of the searchers on that keyword.

Why not rank for the keywords of the actual products you are promoting? of more buyer-focused keywords like "best cellulite cream", etc? That TARGET your article towards creating excitment from your product and selling it.

You are so close, don't give up now because your $10 domains will expire.... how serious are you about making money online?

    cheers,

I'm having a similar problem with my site. I'm trying to increase the conversions but find that it is imperative to rank for some broad keywords.

Haven't come up with a good answer just yet. Possibly check your landing page design and see if it is appealing enough for people to want to buy!

^ You need to read my reply above.

billuk3 - More "salesy" is not always the answer. Just research the product in question and write something a little more reflective of the product and perhaps a little persuasion to buy.

Try braking up your first and second paragraph with an affiliate link that says something like "If you want to cure XYZ fast then you should definitely check out XYZ" - Monitor the clicks you get here in comparison to your other ads.

      Test, test, test!

Your site is also way to generic to really target any specific person. If your going to be ranking for stuff like this, make a header that grabs a very specific type of person.

If you sites is about cellulite have a big header that lists three benefits your site would have to people with the problem

    - Simple ways to cut out your leg fat
-The tools that saved my beach body in 2 weeeks
    -etc

Like think about what a random google visitor thinks when they come on your page

Hmmm cellulites reviews....errr....why would a site review cellulite and how does this apply to me...oh look a facebook message *gone forever*

Think about people that visit your site, find out their problems and then make a page that say HEY THIS APPLIES TO YOU.

This page right now only applies to the most desperate of people with this problem.

Learn some stuff about conversions and copy writing and you can easily convert this traffic dude.

dadamson is right - and i would add that if you are sending PPC visitors to the main page of your web site, you are distracting them with too many options.

niche down. narrow your focus. solve a specific problem, and craft a landing page that addresses just that problem. Talk about the benefits to the visitor of the product, and boldly ask for the sale. Don't put anything else on the page except your engaging text and buy button.

Metrics like bounce rate and time-on-site are nearly worthless if the landing page has twenty different distractions on it.

    good luck!

Your #194 for the keyword anti cellulite.

If you think your #4 I guarantee your getting personalized SERP results based on your browser history.

Use Google Chrome Incognito browser when checking your keywords in Google Search, it doesn't save browser history. Also don't login to anything when checking keywords in the SERPs.

My bad, it's #299 today, for the keyword (anti cellulite).

Do you have any data showing your getting traffic from the exact keyword?

        Zero traffic equals zero sales.

BTW, regardless of what serp attacks returns, your traffic is running only popular browsers (not serp attacks). Check your browser (no cookies, history or logged into anything).

That screenshot below, the browser (Chrome Incognito) is set to 100 SERP results per page. I doubt my browser is lying.

I think the best way to test is PPC at first. I targeted a keyword that is very competitive and was getting very good CTR on adsense from this keyword. I wasn't ranking when I first started, but I had a $100 adwords coupon and I used it to put myself at the top of Google page when someone searched for that keyword.

Because it was so competitive, I decided to go for an easier keyword, but very very similar in meaning. I am ranking on first page now, but the CTR on that keyword is very low. Because I am on first page I am getting the close to the same number of visitors as I was when I set up the adwords account for the other keyword.

I think it is a topic that doesn't come up very often on WF. When you're doing keyword research, it would be ideal if you test out the conversion rate with PPC (since you won't have any visitors at first if you're not ranking yet).
Two keywords, even though very similar in meaning, could have a large difference in how targeted your visitors will be and highly affect your CTR.
