So I'm getting on average 320 visits a day for the last three weeks now but my cpc is horrid. Is this my fault for targetting keywords that are known for low payout or, are others experiencing low cpc right now?
Would I be better off going after keywords that bring less traffic but have higher cpc? I understand that ads in the content network will pay less but .10 for my highest click is just stupendous!

A lot of people make this mistake when first starting out and myself included. If i am building a website to make money through adsense I always make sure the main keyword has over £3 ($4.30) per click. I then find long tail keywords to target, now even though in the Google keyword tool it says you get paid less for these most of the time you will notice that it will show the same £3 per click ads.

However since you already have traffic don't waste it. have you tried CPA? i.e. peer fly or maxbounty. Have you tried video ads? You can get around $0.40 per view with video advertisements. If your page rank is high enough trying selling text links etc.

Google adsense is far from the best way to monetize most websites

To be honest my CPC has dropped this week but my experience with Adsense is that it does fluctuate from time to time.

Have you got Google Analytics enabled on this site? If so you can view your CTR, CPC and ECPM by page and then base your future writing on the pages with a high CPC. However, if .1 is your highest click this might not give you much useful information but it's worth a look.
