What would be a 100% sure way to check rankings on Google US?

I know, we had this question already in the past - but it's still an open issue

No matter whether i use Market Samurai, various Proxies etc...results are ALWAYS varying for me!

I know that Google has many different data centers across the globe and the results per data-center are usually different - but isn't there a better way to check for Google US ranking results which is halfway "spot on"?

(Assuming i am from Europe and i am mainly interested in US results).

For example, i really like scroogle.org to check my rankings manually, but then there are also two US proxies i use (proxify.com and sitesurf.net, both in the US).....but even amongst those three results are always different.

Don't even get me started on this subject. In the past 6 months I'm lucky to get the same serps any two times, especially on local search stuff. Google is either in absolute chaos or changing by the minute on local searches.

If I go to proxy (I use hidemyass paid) server and do searches from different locations, like midwest, east coast, west coast they can all be different. I've got several local clients that are number one wherever you search from except in local area. Not just one area but several. Sometimes Google Places doesn't even show up but when it does all are number one or two but natural seach is all over the place.

And I go to the client computers in the area and double check too. Any given day it's different. Traffice is steady on the good side but the serps are all over the place.

Drives me nuts. And when I check in my three rank checking software programs, it really goes all over the place.

It's tought find a reliable way to check serps these days.

Agreed with the above post -I use two different tools SEO RankChecker (Firefox addon) and also Rankerizer which does seem to be more accurate.

HOWEVER, they are often not the same as if I manually go through a US proxy server and check rankings manually (long and damn tedious). Which is extremely frustrating!

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

You could try using Hide My Ass! Free Proxy and Privacy Tools - Surf The Web Anonymously and search directly in Google, they use 1,000's of different IPs to access any site, I think this gives very accurate results.

You can also add "&gl=us" (without quotes) into your url search string after doing a search in google.

This one does not always guarantee accuracy.

My best bet is the Ad Preview Tool.

I am not in the US and it's important for me to see where I am in SERP, never had a problem with it.

This can be a question even in the minds of the experts and the fact is that even if you use the best tools, or even be in the US, IP addresses would tell which data centers are called to reflect the data. Using Google Webmaster Tools can be definitely helpful and sometimes only a few minor differences in positions might be reported. When you are in New York and check out Google pages for some terms, they might be a bit different from the time you were in Florida.

Of course when you are in the US, differences in positions could be like going one up or two down, not that huge. You can also use proxies and if you find different results, again that is because of differences in IP addresses. As you know, Google has tens of data centers and they are all getting updated with results about websites constantly. They have their unique IP addresses and naturally, they would reflect a bit different stats about web positions of websites in almost all niches.

Ok this one is the least technical one of them all, but works wonders for me with UK and GER markets.

Just get someone over there to check it out If you are not in the top 10 it doesnt matter anyway. I tend to ask a friend in UK and one in GER to signout of any gmail account and just give me a screen shot.

But Traffic travis is 90%+ right in my case.

    Sincerely, Buyseech

George, IMO Google now uses a "random" mix in the algo and just a couple lucky ones keep their spot across different search methods- thats why you shouldn't bother, it's virtually impossible to track it accurately.
