I have ranked a couple sites before and have been trying to rank this one site since last april doing the same stuff. unique KW optimized article, H1 H2 and H3 tags kw bold, kw underlined, internal pages linking back to the main page, each page linking out t an authority site pr4+ back links But still I cant get this site past page 3!! I am having a press release written now and am going to send it out to about 10 pr sites and hopefully it will get picked up by a few hundred other sites so maybe that will help? Please take a look and tell me if you think this is a easy term to rank and how you would go about it. the KW is "zygor guides" and the web site is (w w w. zygorguidesj .com)

well the keyword looks to be very easy to rank for, with only 1,490,000 pages competing shouldn't be too hard to handle. you can contact me by email and I would be more than happy to take a look into your project. stancilw05 at yahoo.com

First of all, anyone that says anything about competing pages, you should probably run from. The number of listings that show up when you search your keyword has absolutely nothing to do with how competitive that term is.

In this case, yours is not easy. It is doable, but there are some decent pages on page one right now.

You need better backlinks. Just taking a quick glance, your backlinks are awful. You have backlinks on pages that have thousands and thousands of outgoing backlinks. It looks like you have bought every fiverr and WSO backlinking gig you could get your hands on. At a glance, it looks like a very spammy backlink profile.

You need to improve the quality there to have any hope.

Agreeing with Mike here, do not listen to the whole "competition" people talk about as it is complete rubbish!!

You need to stay clear of spammy links like forum profiles, blog comments etc done in mass. This is a sure fire way to get your site noticed for all the wrong reasons.

You should have built some free blogs with content and used the spam links on them giving your site a buffer (the free blogs).

Also, do some articles, social bookmarks, directories etc. and get some high PR links (my sig ).

You need a good mix of different diverse links for best increases in SERPS otherwise you will just get stuck or worse still penalised by Google, then you have no hope.
