Why is my site jumping around the Serps

I have a new site, about 1 month old.

Generally it is targeting very competitive keywords. Some of the page one listing have over 1.5m back links to them, and are established over 10 years. Gonna be tough, but i ma not looking at taking them on in a few weeks.

However I have internal pages that already rank quite well for competitive, but not stupidly tough keywords. It is these internal pages that keep jumping all over the place.

I have been checking the site with google.com [but from here in the UK]

One keyword in the last 5 days has done this:

Page 13 number 5
Page 8 number 2
Page 4 number 8
Page 11 number 6
Page ? Not in top 30 pages.....

I have done nothing to the page other than add further relevent content I have written to the overall site....

Is there any logic to google?

Clickety Clack, the sounds of the Google Dance...

Generally building links to domains (especially new ones) will get you dancing around the SEPRS until you settle. Then when you are more established the dance is less drastic and you tend to just move a few spots at a time.

One reason is because your site is new. Don't worry about it that much just continue to add backlinks and content to it. It will eventually settle down.
