Product Name in URL

Brand names are trademarks of the corporation that makes the product, generally. Always check first. Generally you can search for the product name and 'registered trademark' in Google to find the page.

If the product name is a trademark you can't use in your domain name.

Do yourself a favor & do something like this.

Rank the internal page.

You'll never lose your domain over trademark problems to BlackBerry, even If you out ranked BlackBerry in the SERPs.

Ya I would not put it in the domain
You get a lot of boost *IMO JUST AS MUCH* For putting the kw in the URL as you do for putting it in the domain

for a trademarked name I would not put it in the domain , you never know how pissed off they would get

Example I was looking for a new BRAND name
for a site I am opening

Its for a commodity product in short supply
I found a good one I thought

I went to google
THE EMD was available...........GREAT (EMD for Branding is totally different than EMD for SERPS)

Anyways EMD .com is available

But there was one big problem
There was already a guy running a company by that name

he just didnt buy the domain with his company name

So
I could have gone out bought the name, EMD.com sure no problem

but
Technically the first person to operate a business in that name OWNS THE NAME and the right to do business in that name.

So
Even though the EMD.com was available
If I named my company that same name

He COULD HAVE demanded the .com name from me, and sued me
and he would have probably won

now would he do that? He probably would have demanded the name
I dont know if he would have wanted to shell out the money to go after it in court but

Why hassle with that?
So I just decided to go with another name , which when searched for in Google produced no other company doing busines under that name

Heck that other guy, he already had a facebook page under his company name, all kinds of other stuff
why he was stupid enough not to shell out 10 bucks to buy the .com name, I dont know

Yeah, try to avoid trademarks in the main domain. If you really want to do it, search and see if there are any sites on the main page with the trademark in their domain. If there are quite a few, then chances are the company doesn't really care that other people are doing it. If there aren't any, chances are the company is sending out C&Ds to everyone they find infringing on their TM.

Most companies just threaten you with a letter from their "attorney" which is just a form letter takes them 2 secs to fill in your name, and its not from an attorney

most wont hire a real attorney and take you to court
but
some will, like Playboy

Me? I would not want someone harrassing me with emails , who needs that

My feeling is kw in the domain is not any more important than kw in the url anyways, SERPS wise
also by doing it the way YUKON says, you can pile 100s of kws on one domain instead of buying domain after domain after domain after domain for each new kw

thats called smart use of your time and money

I also suggest to use brand name url that will be more helpful to search engine as well as users

It is good that your product name and number in url for visibility but it is not necessary...
