How do I know if my organic keywords are high or low competition keywords? Can I use google adwords keyword tool? I.e. the competition level shown on adwords tool, e.g. low, mid or high

Can an organic keyword have low competition but high traffic?

To check a keywords competition you've got to look at a number of on page SEO factors as well as offpage factors such as how many links the competing sites have.

Here's a video of most of the factors and how to check them: http://youtu.be/tpsVyx6pL-0

The competition level you speak of represents the amount of bidding competition from adwords advertisers. It has nothing to do with ranking in the search results.

Here's a video to clarify that, and another common misconception newbies make: http://youtu.be/RHs0FCocZ0k

That competition in the Adwords Tool is just that, for Google Adwords. That has nothing to do with ranking keywords in Google organic SERPs.

Yes, it's very possible considering millions of keyword combinations exist.

Yes I run a site with adsense on a gardening niche and you can have high traffic and low competition, and in my case around £0.30 / 47cents per click. And yes I just use the google keywords tool, no need to buy anything fancy and pay each month for it. Think about it, google probably has far more keyword stats logged than any keyword tool you are ever likely to buy, if the keyword tool was better than googles chances are they'd be bigger than google. Simple thoughts maybe but for me it makes sense. All thxs appreciated
