Adwords makes me want to punch someone

Guys,

whilst my ads for adwords have been approved almost instantaneously, it is taking a lifetime for me to get my keywords approved, and as a result my campaign is yet to go live.

and it is bloody irritating.

adwords says i have a low keyword score (which i think is a lie as i am targetting the same keywords as is my site's focus). but either way, that shouldnt hinder approval of it?

im operating in a clean (non-adult) area, but i did exclude 0-17 year olds from my demographic (no point appealing to kids who wont be able to pay, or likely to use my product0

perhaps that is a cause of a delay?

thanks

Excel Addin

Your low QS could very well mean your site or landing page is violating policy, which, in turn, is holding up approval. It may not be necessarily the case but without seeing it, it's hard to guess.

How long is "a lifetime" ? I remember stuff they didn't approve of stayed in "pending" and as I recall, it can stay there indefinitely.

Adwords took a lot of work to get right when I tried it. Maybe I'll get back into it someday.

    well, just as an update,

i woke up this morning to discover that my account has been suspended (Sigh).

click on the links in my signature (not sure I can put html links in posts)

the excel addin one is the one to go for. in what way does that site look spammy?

such a poor end-user experience with adwords. It depresses me.

a lifetime is a week in timescale. Seriously, to approve a 35 word ad should take seconds at most. Less in reality, considering its all automated.

Excel and excel add in, or anything similar may not
be a keyword google allows. Should have researched
      that.

Also, you have no real contact except a form. A phone
number, physical address, etc. would be nice. Even
a clickable real email, not gmail, would be prudent as well.

Is the page spammy? Well, who knows. But the page is
severely lacking in substance, that's for sure. Just
something like, This is fantastic, you should buy it, come ons.

Your problem is your buy now link. You should think about your visitors' user experience. That's why your ads don't run.

Thanks for the feedback both. I agree the buy now link is less than ideal, but I had to put in a bridge page to overcome a deficiency in Google's own analytics goal tracking ability.

Still, what's done is done. Banned for life I guess, just like so many others.

Excel and addin are allowed keywords - there are people already using adwords on these - I did check.

What is leaving the worst taste in the mouth is the lack of transparency, and the retardedly slow process for something that in no way impinges on Google's own brand.

    Thanks again both
