From #24 to #8 With Only 12 Backlinks!?

Hi people!

I'm so excited and I've got to share this with all of you.

So, my site is 2 months old, I've been doing some initial backlinking (hundreds of senuke forum profiles, adding my site to various directories, 500 social bookmark submissions, etc) and some blog commenting (PR 2-3).

This got me to #24 position of Google, and it's been that way for about a month now...

Today, I created ONLY 12 BACKLINKS, and my website went from #24 to #8. It happened in a matter of hours!

This is exactly what I did:

1) Created a youtube video and linked it to my homepage
2) Searched blogs with open comments on pages with PR3+
3) Extracted usernames which commented on those blogs and whose sites were relevant to mine
4) Typed in Google: "by username" and found dozens of blogs that are high PR and some of them were even relevant to my (and his/her) niche.

Then, I posted comments on these blogs. There was 1 PR 5 page, 2xPR4, 3xPR3 and 5xPR2. They were all do-follow and auto-approve.

KABOOM! 14:00 PM today = #24 position, Now = #8 position!!!

My search term returns 57.200.000 results by the way, and there are a lot of sites that would kill for the #1 position.

If anyone is interested in EXACTLY how I did this (although I pretty much described it in details), feel free to ask and I will do my best to help you get the same results.

Kind Regards,
Zannix

Goes to show that forum profiles and social bookmarking are practically useless for serious ranking.

….. or could it be that the jump today was just a coincidence and the real reason that you increased your ranking was the previous back linking you did?

Although this can never be disputed, come on... what are the chances of that? For a full month, things don't move, and then I build 12 high quality links, just to see a 16 SPOTS movement on the SERPs immediately after!

Yes that was my point. Social bookmarking and profile links are not that useful.

You probably could have not even done those and just done the things you did today and gotten than rank, although it will probably fall back a bit. Then, on the other hand, it's probably too soon for all the links you did today to be noticed and counted so you might find yourself moving even higher.

I've come across some that are dofollow & auto approve with very few outbound links. But they're still somewhat moderated with a captcha and spam plugin.
The PR5 link had 80-ish comments. That's kind of lucky I guess! The rest of them (the PR 4s and 3s) had between 100-200. And for the lower (PR1,PR2), it's easy to find ones with little or no OBL.

As for the captcha, I don't see a problem there? I did these manually so... :p Ahh the spam filter... yes - these can be a pain in the butt! The way I got rid of these is to try both the ahrefs and BB code links. If neither worked, I just pasted the URL of my website with no anchor. That one never triggers the spam filter!

          Sure Iva,

Visit this site, Drop My Link - Find sites to create backlinks on - search for some blogs... Make sure you've installed SEO Quake on your browser so you can see the PR in the search results...

Secondly, open up a few high PR pages you find and go through them. See if you can comment on them.

Thirdly, search for people who link to a similar kind of sites such as yours. Copy their usernames and paste it somewhere (in a notepad file or something). Then, after you're done, open up a fresh Google search that goes exactly like this: "by username". This will automatically find all the blog pages that this user has recently commented on. Which means you can do it too!

+ There's a chance that he/she ALSO was looking for relevant blogs, and if he/she found them... well... then you've found them as well

          Cheers!

You might be surprised - it could very well have been mostly the PR2s with low OBL. Anyway you found out something I have been trying to tell people for months - PR still matters - FOR links.

Thats why I get into it with very popular posters who don't know a thing running around WF telling people PR does not matter anymore. Its pure nonsense.

Good for you, your hardword finally pay off, now go move to higher rank. My suggestion, stop do profile links, do a lot building links to authority sites. That's help so much to increase your rank.

Nice work now build more pages and replicate the same techniques to these pages as well.....mixing it up of course.

In a short while you will be getting a ton of traffic this way

Sounds interesting.... The hard thing is to find relevant sites with high PR that are auto-approve.. and if your comments get flagged, then you're site is going down the ranking order again.

To each his own I know what works, so do you.

Yes and you can't really control that. The best you can do is to leave a relevant comment that contributes to the conversation. And since I was only building a couple of backlinks, I made that effort!

Hey, thanks It's not much, 1000-ish, but it's a highly targeted "buyer keyword", thus quite competitive.
