Does WP Robot Really Work?

Hey guys, I wanted to open this thread and talk about WP Robot.

For those that don't know what it is....well it's a wordpress plug in that you buy that automatically posts articles, youtube videos, yahoo answers, clickbank and amazon ads...etc.....so you don't have to.

Basically, WP Robot pulls articles etc from directories and posts them onto your blog...freeing up your time. You can dictate what you want to post based on keywords and the like...and you can also determine frequency of posts and also how many posts etc.

So far I've used this plugin on 5 blogs over the past 12 months...and have studied my traffic on these blogs and compared that traffic to my other blogs that don't have WP Robot and just plain old content (original) that I post on myself.

Well my conclusion is that WP Robot does more harm than good..in google's eyes those blogs are just content farms (not very unique and hence get ranked lower). While it does save you a lot of time in that you can use the plugin on numerous blogs and set it and forget it...the results in traffic and conversions aren't impressive and I feel that the plug in is sort of useless these days in getting higher rankings in the SERPS.

What are your thoughts?

Yes it really works. And by "works" I mean it does what it is programmed to do.. automatically generates content. It doesnt promise great content, just content.

Agreed, it does do what it's meant too, will it help you ganish great rankings and make money, maybe when it came out, with Googles recent updates I would say more NO than YES. It may make you money scraping youtube videos, but if your going to use those you may as well download them and re-upload them under your own account with your own url and backlink them directly to rank them.

I purchased the plugin about 1 year ago and never really used it due to my fear of duplicate content issues and my desire to have %100 original content. But I wonder how this is any better than a free RSS agregator plug in that can pull in feeds, news, etc? Why pay the money?

I was looking at WP Robot myself but I have to agree with ONEWOLF that an RSS aggregator may better suit my needs. I basically just want to add an "Industry News" area to a sidebar.
I think what I will end up doing is just using my existing subscribed feeds and manually curating. It would be great if you could just spin an article summary from a feed.

Of course...when you are freeing up your time by using WPRobot you are simultaneously freeing up the Panda to pound you.
