Does it pay to buy backlinks?

Hi Warriors,

Online marketers often talk about buying backlinks but I have never done it. The only backlinks I get are from article and press release type websites and online classified ad sites. I know enough that all links are not created equal and some links are completely useless.

So what do you look for when purchasing backlinks; what are the best type of backlinks to buy; what should I stay away from; and how much of an impact does a lot of backlinks really have on your website's search engine ranking?

Just be sure to stay away from the offers of 20,000 links for $5. They're simply spamming the web and it will end up doing more harm than good. Look for someone with a lot of testimonials and realistic prices. You get what you pay for with backlinking.

Have a look over at the Warrior for hire section. I know there are plenty of people offering links over there.

Instead of buying backlinks and doing it yourself manually, you should look for outsourcers and outsource your backlink work.

My personal favorite is Fiverr. I'm also registered with several private blog networks to give an extra boost in search rankings.

    Research & Test

Do the work manually at first so you know what it takes.

Then look for high-reviewed services and test them out. Do what works, eventually you can target keywords that will pay you more than the cost of the backlinks.

I don't really buy backlinks from i donot know. Because some uses "Automation backlink" and it will hurt your site in long run.

Hire a good pro SEO but cheap.

I have my VA-SEO. We are good partners, in just a month and she make my keyword in top # 5 in Google USA.

I'm paying her $350 a month 5 hours per day - Weekdays only. She is really good. If you like I to hire her you can contact her here : Julieann R. Gamit

I wouldnt advise it to be honest, dont get me wrong I have did it gone on to fiverr and bought some links but the success you have is varied and you have to be really careful you are not just spamming, if you dont want to do the backlinking yourself then I suggest outsourcing it

Outsourcing is the solution coz they are just doing the same business over and over again so they know what works and what not.

However, you need to go for the links that have value and not the ones that will never gets indexed. Some profile links are indexed but many don't get indexed ever. So there are so many possibilities when you order certain types of links.

I've purchased backlinks from Fiverr - the ones that advertise 10K + ... In the end, only about 300 or so backlinks stuck. Not really high quality links either. It did absolutely nothing for my site's rankings either (I was ranked 3 on page 1 before I bought the links and have stayed there). I think those who advertise (with good feedback from others) manual submission backlinks are better for your site. SEO is never ending, so if you're working on a large scale, a virtual assistant may be your answer as some have already suggested.

It's good to hire a SEO pro or use some app that helps you manually build your backlinks. I'll advice you stay away from those inflated claims of 1000s of backlinks for few $$

buying backlinks can help, but you have to choose the best quality ones. Don't go for just junk, get backlinks that are manually made just like what you yourself are making them. Mix this up with your own manual backlinking and this will help boost you up.

Seriously, if that takes a lot of time for you to do it and you have something else important to do, then you can buy backlinks OR hire VAs to do that for you.

Fiverr backlinks are ok to get your web site indexed and get you in the top 100. Other then that it's pretty much worthless.
Look for someone that provide quality links from article submission, high pr blog commenting and .edu backlinks. Social bookmarking is also good.

You have to be careful when you buy backlinks because they can be very low quality or page rank than won't do much help to your site. Many backlinks are spam and can actually harm your site. You can find backlinks on your own by searching Google, writing press releases or articles, blog commenting and social bookmarking for free.

The question comes down to this: Do I want a bunch of crappy Spammed backlinks or do I want links that will stand the test of time?

If you make the smart choice the best way to get quality links is to find quality blogs that accept comments and make constructive and relevant comments on these Blogs. You could also outsource this. Good luck.

I use to manually create my own backlinks but I find it boring and too time consuming when I have several niche websites I have to rank.

Now-a-days I just outsource the backlinking proccess here on the "Warriors for Hire" section. I only order backlink pyramids and high quality links. No spammy stuff.

My results so far from ordering backlinks are pretty good. My sites are ranking faster and higher on the search engines. They basically pay for themselves. I also have more time to start new projects.

Before you buy or outsource anything, you have to know what kind of backlinks you need. If you need to learn about what makes a good backlink, I recommend this post from SEOMoz:

All Links are Not Created Equal: 10 Illustrations on Search Engines' Valuation of Links | SEOmoz

That will give you a basis for evaluating the different types of backlinks that are available.

I find that although it is time consuming, manually doing my own backlinks gives me far more value. That's because it's not just the backlink itself, but the fact that I am getting involved personally in my niche. Yahoo answers, blog posting, etc - if you have a personal presence it helps build your authority and you get noticed more. All of which means more traffic.

I would also advise to manually do some backlinking yourself, and outsource based on your own process of backlinking that way the work is done according to your way of doing things. The people on fiverr are not that good at PROPER backlinking and usually over-deliver on spammy links, you want an over-delivery on quality high PR links that are done properly, and training a fiverr guy to do it the right way probably won't work out too well.

No. Under Panda Google will soon ignore your bought backlinks. They actually want backlinks from real people who believe your site is valuable enough to backlink.

How do I know this? I have purchased various services over the years and a few gave me temporary juice only to condemn it to the bad side of the town once Google caught up.

There is no use buying backlinks. They will fade off and they are even not recognizable by the mighty Google itself... Besides put in efforts to get unique backlinks by submitting articles to directories such as ezine, articledashboard, soopaerarticles and articlebase etc and also getting help with social bookmarking sites and web 2.0 services such as squidoo etc....

Theres no way google is going to tell whether you have paid for links or not. There is way too many different types of link styles on so many different platforms.

Paying for links is good if you dont have the time or skills to do it yourself. I think that if you are making money online, a % should be going into SEO. Its just like a normal business, if you make X amount you put aside X% for advertising.

If you dont have money, do it yourself for free.

Also look at your niche. If you think being #1 will make you much more money, then invest money or time into SEO to get there. Its simple as that really, theres no other way to look at it.

Too often people want to make heaps of money online, but dont want to spend money to get there. Just like every other industry, thats not going to happen. On rare cases people can make a bit of money without doing much initially but in a flooded market like today, competition is more fierce.

Yes you can rank for low keywords without doing much and thats really good if you have, but most of the time people who have made it somewhere and are ranking, they have at least purchased tools to assist them instead of services.

    Thats my 2 cents anyway.

If you aren't paying for links, you're not really even in the game. Anyone saying they don't work, or that Google can detect them, etc... is clueless. I don't mean that to offend, it's just a fact.

The problem is that when you ask specifics of what types of links to get, or who to buy them from, is that you're starting to get closer to asking for the secret sauce. Anyone that has the recipe for the secret sauce isn't going to be sharing, and those who don't have it are going to give out what they think works but really isn't nearly the best.

All that said, I would advise you to research a ton of different services and try out the ones you think might work. It's a game of trial and error until you stumble across the stuff that works the best, and even then it's always changing.

From the Google viewpoint, a quality backlink is the one that a webmaster has placed himself in order to qualify his content or help readers to get more information on the topic. So, since you are placing your backlinks on the websites on which you are not the owner, you should at least mimic such organic placement. This can be done by placing backlinks on relevant pages (not only websites), which is not easy and requires lots of search and effort.
