For some strange reason, Google doesn't like Adsense to be placed on my loans blog and they sent this email to me today:

Hello,

While reviewing your account, we noticed that you are currently displaying Google ads in a manner that is not compliant with our policies. For instance, we found violations of AdSense policies on pages such as Define Mortgage Loan.

Publishers may not place Google ads on pages that violate Google's webmaster quality guidelines (Webmaster Guidelines - Webmasters/Site owners Help). While we've included the following excerpts from these guidelines, we recommend that you take the time to review them in their entirety.

* Make pages for users, not for search engines.
* Don't employ cloaking or sneaky redirects.
* Don't load pages with irrelevant words.
* Don't create multiple pages, subdomains, or domains with substantially duplicate content.
* Don't participate in link schemes designed to increase your site's ranking or PageRank.
* Avoid "doorway" pages created just for search engines, or other "cookie cutter" approaches such as affiliate programs with little or no original content.
* Avoid tricks intended to improve search engine rankings. A good rule of thumb is whether you'd feel comfortable explaining what you've done to a website that competes with you. Another useful test is to ask, "Does this help my users? Would I do this if search engines didn't exist?"
* If your site participates in an affiliate program, make sure that your site adds value. Provide unique and relevant content that gives users a reason to visit your site first.

As a result, we have disabled ad serving to the site.

Your AdSense account remains active. However, we strongly suggest that you take the time to review our program policies to ensure that all of your remaining pages are in compliance.

Please note that we may disable your account if further violations are found in the future.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team
The blog is www DOT definemortgageloan DOT com.

Can anyone please tell me what is wrong with the blog? I am really puzzled by this. The question is: WHY? Does Google have something against loans sites? I don't have any duplicate content on that site either!

Well adding something like this to ablog is hardly likely to help you win friends and influence people in Google

'What poppycock is this? I don’t spam people with this blog and it is far from being completed. I haven’t even gone into gear and posting that often yet either. The ads were still activated even after I received that e-mail but I am disabling the Google ads on this blog anyway until this issue has been properly clarified with them. I really don’t understand why are they picking on me. Does Google dislike loans sites?'

I would get rid of that and the post on Google double quick, or you might see a Google ban.

It could just be that it is a mortgage related site but with no actual mortgage advice. Mortages are regulated products, well in the UK anyway. That's all I can think of.

Have you replied to them and ask what specifically in the Webmaster Guidelines did you violate?

    Hi menj,

Since your ads were removed, there is no way to see how you were displaying them. Taking a wild guess I would say you were making them look like navigation links and causing people to click them without realizing they were ads. That's the only reason I can imagine you chose that horrible color scheme.

I would recommend that you read their policies with the understanding that every single thing they say in the policy is carefully chosen and scrutinized by both lawyers and linguists. Google does not include anything that is not absolutely necessary and important. This means you cannot ignore a single word of their policy. Use it like a checklist!

First of all, it appears that your domain has been deindexed because site:www.definemortgageloan.com - Google Search doesn't show any pages indexed. Adsense typically removes ad serving from deindexed sites because they assume that you're violating a webmaster rule somewhere. Your first task is to figure out why you've been denidexed. You can use Google Webmaster Tools for that.

Since you've removed the ads it's hard to say if they were causing a problem or not.

looks like duplicate content to me, same article is found on wordpress.org and some other site. I guess G.A is cracking down on duplicate content and those who put adsense on it.

Well, If you are a beginner in IM, then forget the google. Advertise in Yahoo or in 7search. You might just get better results and less competition anyway.

@menj - Use that site for something else now. You won't get ads re-instated on that site once you've received that notice. If you know what it is you did wrong then don't repeat it on another site. If you don't know, then don't over analyze it but re-read the TOS before you build more sites.

Thanks for the help guys. I've added the blog to Google Webmaster Tools and trying to figure out what is the reason for Google de-indexing the blog. The blog is fairly new (only 3 months old!) and I haven't got around to promoting it yet before I got that email from Google Adsense. Any specifics that I should be looking for in Webmaster Tools to find out the cause for the de-indexing?
