I fully realize that in SEO .info is just about the bottom of the barrel, but what about Adwords. Do you really think that you could get keywords that much cheaper by using something other than .info and if yes than approximatly how much?
#info

You are so full of baloney, it's not even funny.

Where did you hear that myth? And why are you believing it?
And why do you assume everybody hear believes it?

SEO on a dot info is the same as anything else. So get that
out of your mind before you even try something else.

For adwords, you want a domain that mimics what you are
selling. If you sell books, have books in the domain, and so on.

Dot info, com, who gives rip? Google? Adwords? Man can
    this topic get any crazier?

Seriously, when you start out with a completely false statement,
what does that say about your mentality, as well as your ability?

So why does .com, .net & .org cost so much more than .info?

.com costs more because it is "recognized" to be better by humans. But the search engines don't care...only people think the .com is a better URL than a .net, .info, .biz etc...

That's exactly right. Having a .com domain won't give you better rankings than a net, org, or biz. A .com is mainly good if you have a business, or a brand name, because most people assume a website is usually dot com.

Because the market is willing to pay for them.

And .info's really are not that much cheaper. They are cheap the first year. The renewal is $10 or more.

Yes Paul you are right, but tell me one thing why people like to buy .com instead of .info?
Because every people have normal tendency that is they type .com at the end of the domain name. one more feature is people can easily remember your domain name.

I am not debating on your sentence but this is my personal view and sharing this because i have noticed this things.

I am currently ranking a .info and it is ranking well...

As for Adwords I would say if you want to catch some return visits or referrals from that traffic is would be better to have a .com but I do not think that you will catch to much of a break from having a domain with keywords in it...

If you're going to have some spammy, or "marketing site", by all means, go for the .info. As was mentioned, the search engines probably don't care.

But if you want to be taken seriously, look more legit, and build a brand, business or site that will have value, then .com is the way to go. Not to mention the fact - as ace21 above said - that "most people assume a website is usually dot com".

So, as a rule, I never go for the .info (yes, I know, I do have a few sites built on them, but mostly acquired those).

.com is relatively easy to remember, that's all its advantage compring with .info. And I don't think the domain's price has anything to do with the websites' weight, if that's true, we all will go after .cm, it takes $139.99 per domain.

Hi guys according to me it doesn't matter your back-link is .org, .com, .info or .net rather the main thing is how quality is it? Search engine loves quality back-link better then quantity of back-link.

google has mentioned several times in their blog post that .com or .info has nothing to do with ranking factor, perhaps .info is more economical if you are playing with keywords

I just picked a search term out of thin air and put in "buy fishing equipment online" on Google and quit looking for a .info after the 5th page.

I have a theory that Google has an idea how expensive the domain is and ranks accordingly ?
Hence cheaper domains are more likely to be filled by spam sites ?
    Only a theory !
