Hello Warriors!

I figured I would make this thread as an introduction and a way to give fellow Warriors some motivation. The site I will be dicussing about here will be in the medical niche.

I plan to target a few keywords to start things off, and then may expand out from there depending upon the difficulty to rank. Typically I would avoid a keyword that contains EDU/GOV on page 1 as that is usually a tell tale sign that you will generally not be able to pass, however I'm going against my usual judgement on this one.

So lets get to the site and keywords....

Keyword 1:
  • Local Searches: 27,100
  • CPC: $11.84 USD
  • SerpIQ Competition rating: 58

Keyword 2:
  • Local Searches: 2,900
  • CPC: $6.50 USD
  • SerpIQ Competition rating: 57

Keyword 3:
  • Local Searches: 1,300
  • CPC: $5.01 USD
  • SerpIQ Competition rating: 58

Keyword 4:
  • Local Searches: 1000
  • CPC: $3.45 USD
  • SerpIQ Competition rating: 48

Keyword 5: (I have an EMD .ORG for this keyword)
  • Local Searches: 480
  • CPC: $2.62 USD
  • SerpIQ Competition rating: 45

* All search trends are steady across the year, so if this gets ranking it will be a consistent autopilot earner. Because this is a medical term, I will eventually be able to allow multiple types of monetization (which I recommend you plan out when creating your sites)

    I'm not quite sure how often I will be updating with rankings just yet as i've learned that watching over sites daily rankings can be a bit PITA (besides tracking to see what date you tripped a filter or something of that sort).

    I don't expect this site to be ranking for at least a month or so as these are some pretty competitive keywords for an MFA (typically I would not target that high of CI's unless it was a long term niche site of mine).


    Day 1

    Install Wordpress

    Initial Theme:
    Default WordPress 2010

    Initial Plugins:
    • All In One SEO
    • SEO Ultimate
    • Google XML Sitemaps
    • Tweet Old Posts
    • Contact Form 7

    * The site will be done in a silo format, with the homepage being approximately 1,000-1,500 words. Each inner page will be approximately 500 words as well.

    * Each Page will feature a 1--2 pictures with fully optimized title, alt, etc. H1, H2, H3 tags, the keyword in bold and italics. I personally do not believe in keyword density and have done my testing to verify it. On page meta title, descriptions, and keyword tags will be done as well.

    Backlinking
    * I will be submitting the site to ALN today to get some decent in-content links started and will let this run for approximately 30 days.
