I Swear, You Don't What's True And What Isn't

I'm trying to check SERP ranking on a primary keyword. I'm checking them all from the same computer and I am signed out of Google. Here are the results shown by each:

Google (manual search review) - position 10
Scroogle (manual search review) - position 64
seoSerp.com - position 62
Rank Tracker (SEO PowerSuite) - position 10

All for the same keyword, no quotes. Who do you believe?

Agreed, it's almost like a crap shoot. I tend to favor Google in those cases, but who really knows.

I would say Scroogle because Google can be influenced by you being tracked/geo location and I'm not sure how the others compute their ranking.

Google Webmaster Tools gives you an accurate overview of your ranking across multiple locations.

Yea Fraggler, I have GWT and it gives a good snapshot of average ranking. I can understand it more now in light of what I've been looking at lately. Just because I rank # 5 on my computer in my location doesn't mean it will be the same for someone doing the same search across the country or across the world.

Sure does make it more challenging.

        See,

        First of all,

There are many multiple Google data centers all over the Globe. Each of these

may respond with different results for the same search query.

If you see results that vary from data center to data center, it means that

Google is in the middle of updating its search index.

So all you need to do is to focus on the country you are targetting and then

simply use a proxy for checking the ranks directly from Google.

    1. Clear history before you check ranking.
    2. Try this https://adwords.google.com/select/Ad...ingPreviewTool

I use Rank Tracker alot and often verify using scroogle and other anonymous IP type sites and Rank Trackers seems to be on the money everytime.
