Google Adwords keyword tool confusion

I've decided to take a shot at PPC with Adwords (probably not the best move, but who dares wins!) but can not work out what it's telling me.

I have found a keyword which I believe will be profitable which has 22k exact searches a month, and NO advertisers currently.

I've used the traffic estimator and even if I bid £100 per click ( I wouldn't, I was just testing) its saying I will get 1.8 clicks a day at ad position #1.

Now, it may just be me, but with a search volume of 22k a month, I'd like to think I'd get at least 10 clicks a day, maybe 15

If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be very grateful!

Thanks,

Andy

Don't worry about the traffic estimator. I've never used it. I don't know if it's accurate but so what. All you have to do is improve ads to try and get more and more quality traffic, stress on the quality.

The numbers you state would mean you need a 1.4% CTR. Seems very doable, even at top on right side, depending on what you're promoting, definitely if you achieve the first first positions above the SERPs. I highly doubt there is no advertisers at all but if so, so much the better. But maybe you should try to find out why there doesn't appear to be advertisers. Maybe nobody can profit from that keyword?

I'm sure you know that the rule of thumb is that "No advertisers = Not exactly a buying keyword."... Check if the Top 10 guys are actually selling something to get a better judgement perhaps?
