BMR direct to money site?

Should I be building links directly to my money site when using Build My Rank? That's what I've been doing up to now, but I've read a couple of things which recommend doing it to your "Satellite" sites instead. Now I'm not sure what to do. What does everybody else do?

Personally I send my BMR posts to a youtube video which is embedded in a stumbleupon post which links to a facebook which is connected to a DIGG submission, which autoposts on a Google Plus account, which is hyperlinked to my money site....

I'm kidding of course. I go right for the money site, although in all fairness, BMR seems to be losing it's effectiveness as of late and other methods are proving MUCH more beneficial.

What other method? I recently started using BMR again and they've become much more strict (better for quality publishers). I honestly think BMR is one of the best things to do for backlinks. I usually just write a good amount and submit it once a week and let it drip feed.

Link right to your money site but also sometimes link to inner pages. This is a great way to appear more natural and raise both your main domain and sub pages in the search engines together.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

This is what I do. For every 10 posts to the homepage I do about 3-4 links to one of my inner pages. Works well for me. It's more natural too. I want my innerpages to develop some pagerank.

Agree with Eric - links directly to your root URL and other inner pages via BMR works well. Heck, just linking to your root URL and all inner pages is smart. And, if your internal linking structure is setup right, you'll really reap the benefits.

The money site is the main site you build links for. You can have many money sites in different niches but they call it a money site because there will often be 2.0 sites and sometimes smaller feeder sites linking to it but those smaller sites are made to boost your main site that actually makes you money. Someone can elaborate a little more if they want but I had to figure this out when I came here too. I'd never seen the term before WF.

I used to build BMR links directly to my niche sites, however from my experiences the effectiveness of this went down dramatically over the last few months. I think a better strategy is to build BMR articles pointing to a few buffer sites, and then link to your main site on the front page of your buffer sites.

They are contextual links, its best you send them to your money sites IMO.

You should diversify your links. You want links to your M site for sure, but also some to your "satellite" sites. Don't just build links to one type of site, keep it natural and diverse.

This is something I need to start doing more of too. Good tip! The more you build up your satelite sites the more powerful they become in your overall link strategy.

I recommend you also use the tool to build links toward your satellite sites too and this way those links generated through them towards your money site will weigh more.

A few good tips have already been mentioned. I'll add to the general consensus that you should link straight to your money site, and link to various pages on that site.

Also make sure that you are really diverse with your anchor text. Not only should you use anchor text of the keywords you are targeting, you should use variations too. So say that your keyword is "dog training" - you should be linking to "training for dogs", "dog obedience", and so on.

It may feel like a waste of time doing it, but Google is very clever at recognizing related keywords and giving you a boost for having natural variety. I think SEOmoz demonstrated that varying your keyword anchor text by targeting varied anchor texts along the same themes is actually better for rankings than just hammering away at the same anchor text (not to mention the fact that doing so is very risky).

Money site for sure. Then build other spammier back links to your BMR articles.

I've always sent them straight to my money site.

The only thing I try to keep away from my money site is low PR blog comments
