Building an adsense empire on a shoe string budget.

Hey worriors!
I am a three month old newbie and the biggest question i have now is, is it possible to earn a passive income online? Most definitely the answer to that question is yes. But the catch is this. You have to do it with zero investment. Okay after domain registration and hosting charges are covered. These are unavoidable and it's just the cost of doing business. Here is my goal; to earn 100 buks from an adsense site. What are the strategies you would use. Remember the goal and if that is imposible, say it now! But if it is possible, please post exactly what you would do to get you to that point. Of course the strategies employed shall be determined by the competitiveness of the niche. Can it be done?
Thank you all in advance for your input and i look forward to hearing from you.
Felix
PS: I am not afraid to get my hands or my feet wet.

I started out with essential no funds about 2 1/2 years ago, the only thing I could afford was to scrape together the $33 for a monthly membership to the Keyword Academy. I put two websites together, and used Postrunner (The Keyword Academy guest posting system) for getting my back links, as well as seeking out 3 way link exchanges with related sites. One of those sites now makes me $5000 a month, and the other a few $100 a month. It was all I needed to get started, I just had to write loads of articles for on site content and for backlinking because I could not afford outsourcing at all when I started.

If you want to make an adsense empire with no budget, then you definitely need to write a lot of content :-)

Hey! Your story sounds very familiar! I started my journey by reading an ebook by court turtle that promised to give 5k a month. I registered for the keyword academy and fell off after a couple of months. However i still follow their lessons. Problem is i lost focus for a month or so but now i am back! Wow man it is very good to hear of someone who started out just like me! And you are making how much? I will get there! I put THAT on my name!

  • If you have a zero budget, you should do all the hard work. And i mean really hard work of writing articles, posting, commenting, backlinking, for at least six months.

If you expect to be easy and quick, think again.

I have no misconceptions whatsoever. If i expected to make a million in the next two months, i would have stayed in bed!:-) This is a long term commitment.

It is possible - BUT you have to work hard and keep at it. It will NOT be easy.

There are various way you can get free traffic:
    - article marketing (still valuable, no matter what others say)
    - blog commenting
    - guest posting
    - networking on social media with people within your niche
    - creating + providing free reports
    - videos on YouTube (and other video sites)
    - and the list goes on and on and on.

It is possible to make a living online but it's not as easy as some gurus would like to you believe. Nothing in life comes easy - simple as that But it's possible and it's worth it!

Hey! Thanks for the encouraging words Sarah.
Well let me try to give you a brief rundown of what i am doing to promote my site...
      1) I write five articles a week, spin them and post them in the free traffic system.
      2) Forum sigs.
      3) Blog commenting.
      4) social bookmarking
      5) I have a twitter account set up but i do not use it because i do not know much about social media marketing.
If i put in enough work and time into these shall i be making the five thousand that my friend is making?
Also please tell me what i can add to my strategy. Preferably free suggestions...sticking with the topic of this thread. Thanks.

Its absolutely possible. All you need is to:
1 ensure your site has quality content
2 ensure your quality content is optimized for on page SEO
3 drive free back links to your site with article directories, YouTube videos, social bookmarks, press releases, web 2.0 sites and forum signs. Each method can be done with no cost.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

yeah you're on the right track for sure. You must create a ton of content and spread it all over the web ..unique and quality content too. Article spinners can be ok...but many of them churn out un readable junk so be careful in using these too much. Although spun articles are good for posting content on other social sites to get backlinks and link juice to your main page. Keep in mind that you have to be diligent and keep focused on content and don't expect to see results overnight.

      Hey Tyler!
Thank you for the help so far and your comment that i am on track. I spend more time editing the spun articles than i do writing them! I hate reading spun content that is unedited! Its very annoying and wouldn't want to have such content attributed to me! What social sites should i post these articles? Do you mean squidoo and hubpages?

For adsense, I mix it up. I have my spammy, quick to set up autobloggers working for me generating a little income for me as I work and set up unique high quality sites. The high quality ones bring in the cash, and the low quality ones add up over time and keep the money coming in as I set up higher quality sites.

Hey Johny gotpaid! Soon it shall be Felix gotpaid!:-)
Anyway i started with the article ranks program that posted almost 20 articles a day. The only problem is that i get spammy spun content for some of the articles. So i opted out of receiving the content and now i write out my own articles. However my question to you is should i deleat the spammy articles as i am trying to build an authority site. I am at pr 1. Does such content mess up my rankings?

It is hard to say without seeing/knowing exactly what your doing. I personally, keep spammy things down to a minimum on my quality sites. If I copy content because I'm too busy to write and article...I will at least, bare minimum, change the sentence structure, change out some words/phrases and the order that the facts are read out. (I basically give copied content my own little mini spin)

For your quality site, you want real visitors to come to your site and enjoy it when they are there.

Now, should you delete it? I don't know...thats your call, but I definitely wouldn't build more.

I stick with The Keyword Academy now, mainly for PostRunner. I make around 5k a month on average, but I got a few other sites that are making headway on page 1 in goog, so we will see what they bring in.

            Hey Darren...
I tried to mimic the keyword academy system in my marketing attempts. That is why i post the articles on the free traffic system to mimic postrunner. However do you rely on the postrunner system for the backlinks or for the traffic when you post on those sites; or is it both? Because with FTS, i would expect these sites accept dozens of articles a day hence i don't enjoy the homepage status as you would. As for the support forum in the TKA, i am relying on WF and actively looking for a mentor to keep me knowing what to do, focused and working. The reason i can not go back to the TKA is because of my budgetary conserns. But i don't want to live with excuses as to why i could not make it in this business.

Thank you for your advice. I will not get any more spun content from article ranks and i will try to edit the existing ones. But they are at least 150 articles! Anyway moving forward i will strive to write my own content.

You will make your first $100 with your business analyst job description page.

Here is exactly what to do:

    1) Add a new long horizontal ad into the header of your website
    2) Set it to display "image ads only"
    3) Set the left-most "skyscraper" ad to "text only"
    4) Remove the right-most "skyscraper" ad completely
    5) To the bottom of your page, add the largest square ad you can find
    6) Do more research on Business analyst jobs, and try to find 3 facts that are actually useful to know for people who are looking for this type of info. Try to help them learn what to expect. Try to find real business analysts and ask them questions, and ask what are the top 3 most important things. Figure out what to say on an interview for this type of job... and use that info for your article. Genuinely try to help people. You must do this... and the reason for this is that after your initial attempts to self-backlink your site and otherwise self-promote it you need to "hook" the traffic stream in order for visitors to start backlinking to your site on their own. Complicated? Yes. But you will be ahead of 99% of your competition if you follow this logic. This logic applies to ALL other content pages on all your sites. If you don't do this -- it's not worth doing this SEO thing at all, get out now and get a job.
    7) Initial back-linking efforts. Go to forums (you already are doing that, I see), blogs, other websites you own, other forums, any page with dofollow links... and post back to your page as like this:

    Code:
    <a href = "http://www.biznessmind.com/business-analyst-job-description/">business analyst job description</a>
    <a href = "http://www.biznessmind.com/business-analyst-job-description/">business analyst</a>
    <a href = "http://www.biznessmind.com/business-analyst-job-description/">business analyst job</a>
    <a href = "http://www.biznessmind.com/business-analyst-job-description/" title = "business analyst">job description</a>
(not I added, www, you skipped it in your forum signature... Google treats www.xyz.com as a completely different page from xyz.com)

    8) Keep doing step #7,

    but don't:

    a) Post 100 links back in one day, 1-3 is enough (I explain why below)
    b) Ignore the quality of the page you're posting back from
    c) Get frustrated

    however, do:

    a) Use Forum Search - Omgili to find forums on the subject of your page to find legitimate pages to back link from.
    b) Be creative in finding new web pages to back link from. One time I found a relevant forum and,in hopes to get a back-link, I started to receive over 1,000 visitors per day for months (it was a wiki). This has only happened to me once, and they closed editing capabilities of that wiki, but I still get the traffic! So... be creative... there are opportunities we don't know about. I am sure that there are plenty more wiki's or other sites like that out there, I just haven't discovered them yet.

Finally...Your goal is to post a few links per day. It only takes one or two hours.

Remember... you are only back linking one page on one of your sites. Do not add new content. Do not create any more new sites. Just work on this one page.

I guarantee that if you follow all of the above... in 3 months (but likely much sooner), you will make your first $100. Or even more. You are tapping into a multi-billion dollar market, $100 is a little speck.

Take 2-3 opportunities during these 3 months to improve the content on that page. It's not that hard. Keep learning, be creative... write... This will not bring you more traffic, but the reason for this is that you want to gradually improve content that you already have so that visitors will want to do the back linking on their own -- that way you can never stop receiving traffic to your site, ever. Consistent back links win. The reason for initial backlinking by yourself is to "jump start" the machine.

    Good Luck.

Of course the strategies employed shall be determined by the competitiveness of the niche. Can it be done?
No, this isn't always true. It's harder to get into most popular niches with AdSense (that means, most profitable), but it is by far not the determining factor of your success.

I use PostRunner for the link juice only, I get next to no traffic from it. There are all types of site in PostRunner because they belong to individuals. So for some site you won't even get a front page post at all.

I don't no too much about FTS - but if you basically putting article out there to get backlinks that help you gain rankings in the search engines then great. I would also put an article on every free web 2.0/blog there is to get link juice. There are loads of them.
