Is this domain good for an adsense site?

I found an exact match domain that is available that gets:

720 exact match searches per month
The approx CPC is $27.70

Would this domain be worth building an adsense site around?

That depends. Do you think you can you get the number 1 spot in Google for that keyword (or at least in the top 3)? If you can, then it sounds like a great idea! But if you can't, I wouldn't make a site for it.

There are two youtube videos in the #2,3 spots and all the other spots are sites with subpages. There are no root domains ranked.

I think if you could get even the number 3 spot, your site could still earn around $100+ a month from AdSense.

In all likelihood you're not going to get anywhere near that much. People generally just don't bid that high on the display network (where your ads are displayed).

If all you're going to rank is one keyword consider this math.

720 visitors - 30% will click paid search ads. So you're down to 504 potential visitors/month.

Let's say you rank #1 and 50% come to your site. So you get 250/month...

No idea what the niche is, but let's just assume a 5% CTR. So you get about 12 clicks/month.

Now I'm willing to bet most of those clicks will be less than $1, you might get some that are upwards of 5, I don't know.

        Heck, let's say they're all 5 bucks. That's about $60/month.

Google won't tell us, but people have estimated it to be around 68% of what the advertiser pays is what we actually get.

Also, you can expect to get around 5%-10% of your visitors to click on an ad.

And with a number 3 spot in google, you will get around 10% of the people that search the keyword to actually click on your site.

Not an estimation, Google tells us exactly how much we get: https://support.google.com/adsense/b...6002&ctx=topic

Google can tell you anything they want.

Until they show you exactly how much they earn per Adsense click on your Adsense Ads, it's just fluff.

68% doesn't mean much when you don't know what the whole number is to begin with.

Not to mention the Ads are not a fixed price, no two Ads ever pay the same, just like an auction price doesn't pay the same for every bidder.

Yeah, they can tell anything. But the 68% that the poster mentioned wasn't an estimate, which is why I posted the link.

The price of Adsense ads in and of itself has nothing to do with the percentage.

I have a site that the adwords tool says should have a CPC of $6. The contextual tool says $4. My avg. is $1.

There's a lot of things that factor into it. Try it and see. Seems like it wouldn't be much work to rank it.

didn't realize that the payout can be so low. I see people on the Warrior Forum say they make ton's of money on keywords that have a $5 CPC

In the end it's all about traffic and CTR. If you're planning on building the site to rank for more keywords, go for it. If you think that one site with a couple hundred visitors a month will make you rich, think again.

didn't think it would make me rich. I just stumbled upon it yesterday and thought I would get some input here.

You can get a much clearer idea of what the real payout will be by clicking on the Contextual Tool on the left hand side of your Google Adwords Keyword tool screen, assuming you are logged in.

Just remember to take the CPC you see there and figure 68%, which should give you an idea of what your highest value clicks will be.
