So 9 sites total, all using the same template and on same host. All have different on page SEO and content. 3 sites per group are going after similar keywords. Next two groups are going after different niche keyword. They all have different categories, content and posts, etc. But they share ONE keyword per group..

Breakdown: Domains: (3 per group)

1 (random word #1) keyword (random word #2) .com
2 (random word #3) keyword (random word #4) .com
3 (random word #2) keyword (random word #5) .com

Next Groups: EXACT same thing but different middle keyword.

Will this be alright? I've been meaning to ask, just dropped a ton of money to get this 12 month project finished. Almost ready to pack some serious SEO into them for work. I'm most likely over-analyzing this and chances are I'll be totally fine. My research suggests there should be no problems..

Also anyone posting a quality response will be thanked. I'm very generous with that.

So your strategy is to rank for the same keyword with three sites and dominate the keyword in the search engines like that? Or do I understand you wrong?

If it is so, I would make sure to make look the sites look as different as possible. So, I wouldn't pick the same theme for all the sites, make them as unique as possible and also with the content on the site, although your main keyword stays the same, target different keywords per site.

Thanks! Also yes, want them to all rank and fill up the results for the keyword. Push competitors down in the long run. Also good news, all 9 sites have been indexed they are about 1.5 months old domains, just put Wordpress up 3-5 days ago. Google is starting to really run with them. Already indexing category pages and posts on all sites. 2 are even ranking very low on the first page. These are low comp keywords, but the traffic is good.

That sounds great. Did you install the same theme on all the sites? As I said, I wouldn't do that, I would rather pick at least three themes and upload them to the 9 sites.

If you want to make any big changes to the sites like changing the theme, you'd better make them now while the sites are not yet established, or else you are at risk of losing your SERP positions if you make them after months.

Hi, as you already stated that you are using different content and on-page SEO on all the sites. Only thing I would like to make sure that you host these sites on different IP instead of same IP. The more varied you spread your site groups, more benefit you will receive from Google, instead of just using one IP or 3 IP for 3 groups.
