Does Submitting Videos to Multiples Sites create Duplicate Content?

Probably a bit of a silly question but basically I know a lot of people that do this so assuming it can't be an issue.

Basically when I upload a video to youtube I also submit it to multiple video sharing sites with the same description. However does this create a duplicate content issue? Will I be penalized??

As when I search for some of my videos in Google it comes up a number of times on these different sharing sites with the same description. Wouldn't have thought that is good.

Let me know!

Thx

Here's the deal. google can "read" text. But Google can't "see" a video. There's no way for Google to even know what's on your video. So it's impossible to even have a duplicate content issue for this.

Actually Google can "see" a video... sort of. It's how they catch illegal uploads (music, trailers, etc.). (YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.) But I haven't read anything regarding duplicate video content. If there aren't any issues with it now, they may be some later on down the road. Who knows...

Still there is no such issue with duplicate video content. Go without a fear.

TubeMogul | Video Advertising Built for Branding is a good site to check out for video syndication. Other softwares include SENukeX and RankBuilder which both have modules for video submission.

"TAKE ACTION" is the first thing everyone tells you and then they leave it at that. I'll add a second part: TRACK EVERYTHING" - It's the only way to ensure your ACTION leads to results.

If they have proper backlink to original source it is called "syndicated content" if not - penalize.

Of course Google can "see" videos - they slapped a copyright notice on my YouTube. Apparently a grey hat technique to get round it is to slow the video down a little.

Funny thing is though, the copyright claim was wrong, because somebody falsely claimed copyright on the public domain track I used!
