I have no idea what just happened?

Okay,

So I have this 4 month old blog that was consistently increasing in rankings. I use 1 way links(a blog network) to build my links.

The majority of my keywords were ranking between pages 1-5. Then last night all of a sudden, over 75% of my keyword rankings just disappeared from Google. I can't find them in the first 20 pages of Google but they're still indexed according to the "site:" function.

I'm pretty sure I didn't violate any SEO rules.

Has anyone ever just had a large chunk of their rankings just suddenly disappear? Did they come back? What did you do?

Thanks

May be you are facing google dance or something. Just wait for little bit and everything should back to normal if you didn't do anything wrong.

Were you using any other techniques to build backlinks or was it only the blog network?

It might be the google dance where keyword rankings keeps on fluctuating. Keep working on backlinks and wait for some days. They may rank again on same positions after some days.

So what have you been doing lately? Were you still working on your site when this happened? Or did you give up backlinking and adding new content to your site prior to this decrease in rankings?

What kind of backlinks do you have? Remember if you are not mixing up your backlinks from different sources you can move in rankings pretty quickly especially since Google implemented the latest algorithm changes.

    Best of luck!

Your best bet is to keep building links as you were and hope that your rankings come back. Sorry to hear :/

This may be because of Google dance or there may be the reason that you are creating links within a blog network only. Build links from some other SEO sources as well to increase link value

The Google dance doesn't really stop, often times in just 4 months. Did you change anything?

    Wrong.

Accordingly to the gods of internet you broke rule #1: trying to manipulate rankings.
