I recently read about geo-tagging website and images practice will help boost local SERP rankings. I am wondering if anyone here is doing this?

If so, how is it possible to geo-tag images? Thanks in advance.

Images can contain data inside the image file. The hidden data is called EXIF data.

    1) Get the GPS latitude + longitude coordinates from Google Maps.

    2) Download the free GeoSetter software & insert the latitude + longitude coordinates from step #1.

    3) Save the new data inside GeoSetter

    4) Upload image to the net.

    [note]
Inside GeoSetter on the left pane If you saved the data correct you'll see the latitude + longitude data you pasted from Google Maps.

      Thanks guys!

As I havent tried using geotag on images before, I am wondering if its true that Google spider actually crawl the geotag inside the EXIF (or whatever you call it). I know on flickr, you can set geotag on 'site' - but not inside the image.

Will this help local SERP in the first place? Please advise.
